Gareth Southgate has said in-form Arsenal defender Ben White asked not to be selected for England and, while the door is open, it would now be “difficult” for him to make the Euros squad.
The defender has been in outstanding form this season for the Premier League title-challengers and on Thursday it was announced he has signed a new long-term deal to stay at Arsenal.
However, the 26-year-old was once again absent when the England squad to face Brazil and Belgium was announced later that day. He hasn’t represented his country since leaving the 2022 Qatar World Cup early.

What these guys need to understand is that being a football player is a job and in many teams some players just see it as that. Once their career is over they do something different. Secondly, Arsenal pay his wages and if he gets injured playing for England its Arsenal's loss. The same goes for every other club. Southgate picks the same players whenever possible so White knows he has limited prospects of becoming a first team regular.

If Ben left the England because personal reasons So why wonāt the personal reasons stopped him playing for Arsenal after the World Cup?
It's easy for Southgate and everyone to now claim that "Oh, I would have liked to pick him, he was going to make the squad". But in actual fact, no one can be sure that he was going to get picked. as he has overlooked him so many times before and went with players who were in much poorer form and who offered way less than Ben White. So I don't buy it really.

Well we now know that Holland questioned White's integrity and loyalty to Football and then scrutinized him for it. White doesn't want to play for Gareth or Holland after this. Yet Gareth said in his press conference that White and Holland have no issue. Man is more of liar than all governments combined.
