I’m a bit frustrated with the analysis of Colwill. He is one of our best defenders, if not our best, maybe behind Gusto. This season specifically. He hasn’t played LB in a while despite what people seem to be assuming cause of earlier in the season. He also wasn’t always playing as a LB. People assume it’s 4 at the back traditionally, but systems differ all the time. Mostly he would be a LCB in a back 3 on the ball and covering LB when Chelsea were off the ball. And even then he has been good. I understand if he doesn’t start because of his recent injury issues, but whenever he plays we are 10x better defensively. He is still young and needs time to get into this inconsistent and young squad, but he hasn’t been bad at all. People saying he has been bad cause he is playing at LB have not watched him play recently cause he does not play as a LB traditionally at all. Plus in the last few games he started as a LCB in a back 3 and a LCB in a back 4. And even he sort of switches to LB after subs usually, it’s usually to give gusto the license to run forward and contribute more up the pitch and then it becomes a back 3 on the ball like I said earlier. Gotta do better to give analysis on him. Plus everyone else doing their tier lists have been putting him on the plane sooooooooo teehee.
