Fenerbahçe committed match-fixing, but the state cleared Fenerbahçe. Trabzonspor fans hate Fenerbahçe because they did not give them the cup they deserve, what was done is normal.

For the last 20 plus years Galatasaray and Tranzonspor have teamed up to block Fenerbhace's success in the Turkish league. in 2012 they wrote thousands of letters to UEFA and FIFA to deprive Fenerbahce of championship and block its participation in the European Champion's League. They succeded! Then Platini-headed UEFA banned Fenerbahce from pariticipation from European football for several years, and allowed Trabzonspor to play in CL instead of Fenerbahce in 2012. However, there was an ongoing litigation in Turkey to investigate whether or not Fenerbahce was guilty of match-fixing. The court case was dragged and finally 10 plus years later Fenerbahce was acquitted and it was substantiated that the litigation against Fenerbahce and its then President Aziz Yildirim's imprisonment was illegal. Nevertheless, Fenerbahce lost prestige, occured almost half a billion dollar material loss then. Fenerbahce still is suing the Turkish football federation for its losses, and the court case is still being dragged.

Galatasaray has many football players and coaches in many other Turkish league teams, who either were once Galatasaray raised players or they are plain GS fans, and aggresively GS fans at that. When they play against GS they dont show much resistance and lose but when they play against Fenerbahce they always play the match of the year and many times succeed to draw or even win thus giving point advantage to GS. Then there are very many referees who openly are fans of GS, and they referee the matches in a way for point advantage of GS. Fenerbahce's incumbent Presdient Ali Koç has proven all of this in his media briefings many times. The last just a few days ago. WIth videos, undenyable facts.

On top of all of this, in Turkey football is a second religion, after Islam. Fenerbahce and GS have the largest fan bases in Turkey and abroad. When they attepmted to overthrow the government in 2016, those who attempted the coup, wanted to use GS and FB clubs and their fan bases to go against the government. They were successfull having won the favor of GS club since many football players like Hakan Shukur and many of its then managers were sympathisers of the religious movement who attempted the coup. Fenerbahce Club and fan base very much disliked them since the belief was that theat movement was helping GS to win the titles.

So the Turkish government aware of this, always want to keep close tabs on these two clubs and manipulate of their fan bases to vote for their party in the elections. As you see it is more than football in Turkey. And unfortunately Fenerbahce has been victimized for the last 20 years at least.

GS won over Trabzon 5-1 in the Trabzon stadium recently and there was no assault against GS, not even criticism of any of the match officials. However, yesterday as Fenerbahce scored goals in the first half, TS fans literally bombarded the stadium with water bottles, and other and other sharp and solid objects. They managed to hit Fenerbahce's coach's head, shoulder, and many players on the pitch. The referee did not cancell the match because it would have meant that Fenerbahce team would be given 3-0 victory by forfeit, which would mean further better goal difference with GS, and would not play the rest of the match and leave unscathed from the match without injuries, and not tired. Also the players would not incur yellow cards, many of FB players have been given too many yellow cards (compare to GS) to eliminate their chances to play in the next matches (this is also one of the ways how they give GS advantage).

Now, GS media and supporters are making a great clamour to pressure the football Federation to ban Fenerbahce players form the next matches. Even Trabzonspor coach, Abdullah Avci, in the post-match press-conference did not say a word about the assault on Fenerbahce team and how terrible this is for Turkey and footballs image but said: "Let us see what punishments will be given to our oppenents!" It is clear that the whole show/ operation was to punish Fenerbahce once again. Avci is by the way a GS fan. And he always wanted to be GS coach!

I do not live in Turkey but I follow their sports for over 20 years! It is so embarrassing to see the attacks against a great club like Fenerbahce, who is dominating the European leagues in volleyball, basketball and many other sports, and has been quite successfull in football as well. Fenerbahce also provides more than half of the Olympic sportspeople steadily for the last 50 years! Its a shame! shame! shame!😥😥
