Tony Hawk Skates First Downward Spiral Loop:
A behind the scenes look at the idea, the build and the stunt.
We talked with Tony about an idea of creating a Helix shaped ramp that could be skated from top to bottom and he was excited but also a little nervous. To make it all the way around and out, he needed a combination of the right speed, centrifugal force and friction to keep him on the vertical wall. Thanks to Sony for funding this dream and the help of Sony Action Cameras to capture the event. Skateboarding is fun.

  1. Tony hawk wife under god is darn tough sock maker. Tell them the last ones I got from them got balls on it I had to throw away pls make better yarn or whatever.

  2. "We need Bill Nye or something…"
I'm pretty sure Bill Nye's undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering, so he'd actually be more helpful than say a biology major, which is an actual science degree.

  3. At least he’s smart and wears protective gear. I see so many skateboarders not wearing a helmet or any protective pads. Scooter and BMX riders wear them. Skaters need to be smarter. Protect your heads. It only takes one accident to get a serious injury or disability.

  4. What they didnt show you. All the 20 year olds nailing it right away and having to wait a couple hours for this 50+ year old to get it. Lol jk but its funny to think thats probably exactly what happened. Tony Hawk is a legend regardless!

  5. for how old this guy is and how many injuries he's had. It's amazing he can still do this, yall have no idea how risky his stunts were when he was younger. Tony Hawk was the reason this sport remained relevant for as long as it did and its very easy to see why.
