Liverpool fought back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw at home to title rivals Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. Jürgen Klopp’s men were denied a possible penalty in second-half stoppage time when City winger Jeremy Doku caught Alexis Mac Allister on the chest with a high foot. The draw sees Arsenal ahead of Liverpool on goal difference with Man City a point adrift in third place with 10 games remaining.

  1. Not just the ref but sky is in on it too. City don't have that kind of corruption clout. This is the Monarchy not wanting liverpool to win. The ref will favour arsenal in the next match against city to create an illusion that its incompetence and not something against liverpool. But in the end liverpool will not win the league. Any other team that is capable to win will be push to the top.

  2. officials are honest – but far too often inept despite the training they do – this was a penalty 100% because it was dangerous play – anywhere else on the filed it would have been given and the refs know this in their heart

  3. It's obvious that they're just trying to keep the league as nail-biting as possible. They don't want anyone running away with it.
We've seen these sorts of VAR decisions being made all season long, and not just to Liverpool. They're fiddling, for sure.

  4. Brotha, diaz missed 2 of the best chances especially against city in that position, oliver probably thought they'd miss the penalty ,that's probably why he didn't give the penalty 💀

  5. you win some you lose some. remember the diabolical handball on trent city were not awarded a couple years back?
    it was a soft pen
it is what it is. he loves to complain

  6. Manchester City is the MOST FAVOURED team in history: by circumstances (bought by UAE), by luck (Aguero), by referees, by f*** everything, and you have the audacity to wonder why that wasn't given? Just get real.

  7. I thought one the reasons for bringing VAR was to avoid such situations. We’ve seen it used to deny goals where a player is offside by a few millimetres. I begin to believe those who think somewhere money is involved

  8. Clearly, what is needed here is a way for "other" referees to watch these incidents who can then advise the pitch referee to take another look. Now what could we call it?
