It's bad enought to lose to Croatia, as we will Sunday, but at least Canada could have lost with class. This is how Canada will be remembered for its brief World Cup experience. Would have meant something if we'd beaten Belgium. But we lost and, as usual, didn't score a goal. Embarrassing!

Bulletin board material? This is an international incident. Imagine if a Chinese or American coach had said this about Canada? Canadians would be irate and screaming rage. He is on the world stage and has to know where to draw the line, even in the heat of the moment. You have to be diplomatic when speaking about other nations, when you represent another nation. This isn't a team you are calling out, it's a nation.
Seems to me he was trying to deflect attention from the penalty kick decision he made which some didn't agree with (I am not one who disagreed per se, it's a lose/lose situation unless the player scores) or the shutout loss, I don't know. He knows he has to be better there which is why he walked it back of course.
Hopefully the game doesn't get dirty on Sunday.
