On the day that we faced off against Fulham, 24th February, Antony dos Santos turned 24. We lost 2-1, and he barely played one minute of action. Antony feels like a case of what could have been, a young 22/23 year-old Brazilian winger joining the club for £90 million to fix a gaping hole on that right flank. On paper, that sounds like a signing that would take Manchester United to that next level, pushing us to new heights as we race to secure our first Premier League title in over 10 years. What a pipe dream…

  1. It's really Murtoughs £85m disaster imo. When Ten Hag suggested we sign him he was available for like 30-40m at the start of the window. So the price isn't on Ten Hag in my book.

  2. The club overpaid for him, for sure. I did see an interesting article on Opta about how he was very productive before moving to United. He might be the latest Eredivisie talent to realize the PL is a huge step up.

At this point, it's on him and the staff (mostly the latter) for not adding layers to his game

  3. Its a matter of time but Antony has cost Erik his job. Such a poor choice to pay £80m for a player with a limited range of skills. Erik cannot be trusted regardless of Hojlund. Eventually I think Erlk and Antony will be reunited in the dutch league.

  4. Oi remember when Arsenal signed Pepe for I think 80M, I looked at him and thought that's a lot for a right winger with no right foot. I was proved right when they released him early on a free after 3 years. When Antony joined United it was deja vu.

  5. He was hated by media since he signed, just like ETH. He could have been good but had to get taken out of the team because of media abuse then ever since that the whole footballing world has hated him. Every time he has touched the ball since then he has been boo’d, feel sorry for the guy

  6. Hes a first team player so a loan is not an option especially at the price we over paid for him and he used to play under tenhag so if he can't play under him just like Donny its simple he cant cut it at the premier league level hes to one dimensional to easy to mark just keep him off his left foot

  7. Antony's signing was so indicative of United's transfer policy over the last decade – Blank Cheque Book – Name Your Price! Should have saved the cash and kept Elanga.

  8. Anthony for £90m at 22, even with inflation I don't see how United could get more than £35m for a 24 year old 2 years into a contract and who has stunk the place up for 18 months

  9. It felt like a very big call from ETH so early in his time at the club. If it had worked then it would have been a real endorsement of his judgement. I think he probably under estimated the pressure and scrutiny that playing for United would bring and I’m not sure if he really understood exactly what the team needed at that point. The price was insane and shows just how broken the club is.

  10. One of the worst professionals ive ever seen. Just ok speed, sh!t 1 v 1 skills, the worst passer I've ever seen, atrocious finisher, selfish, awful crosser, and one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen. This is one of the few red flages about Ten Hag. He's either a teacher's pet or Ten Hag is EXTREMELY prideful.

"No defender can stop him"?! Name one game that Antony has gotten the leg up on his defender! This is A GREAT example of why I don't listen to Ten Hag ever. EVER, for the last year.

  11. He could be like Bernardo Silva if he develops. That’s always been my view. United are in so much flux that who knows what’s going to happen

  12. Man United can swap Antony back to Ajax, for Bergwijn and Sutalo. Combined they are worth £58 mln. That’s a good deal I would say ha🤷🏽‍♂️.

  13. I'd sell him for £10m. He contributed nothing against Forest this evening. And Ten Hag seems blind to what everyone else can see – that having a left-footer on the right wing and a right-footer on the left is a completely ineffective set-up. Ten Hag should go as well.

  14. Pedro Neto or Goncalves from sporting would be great, or Olise If anything happens there. Also a Cm in joao Neves from sporting and a CB in Antonio Silva from benfica. A striker in Gyokeres from sporting and a CDM in Andre from the brazilian league also.

  15. Our WORST players this season have been Bruno and Rashford ( in this exact order) yet you are making a vid about Anthony.
Lad is well shit but he cant be worst than those 2.
You know who else is a bit if a case of " what could have been" ? The charity lad. Great charities, shit football though. Dont hear anyone talk about how he went from being red hot to pretending to be injured or getting drunk every other week.
NOPE we protect our lads. Right ?

  16. Ten Hag not fancying Amad says all you need to about him tbh. Just a clown loving his favourites no matter how bad they are.

Can't wait for him to be gone.

  17. He should be given another season, hes not a bad player just not a first choice 80m one and if he sorts himself out could be a world beater perhaps even a different manager..??
