Besides been a good captain he's a joke as a footballer tbh
Jordan Henderson's image is now tainted and probably regrets his decision to leave Liverpool last summer. In England, he became the most hated players in the country with his decision to choose money over loyalty and what didn't help was Gareth Southgate continued calling him up to the national team after this move, he was booed by his own fans and we were all confused on why he was still playing for his country even though he was playing in a lesser competitive league. His time in Saudi Arabia didn't work out on and off the field, his team hadn't won a game in 2 months and Steven Gerrard is fighting a battle to keep his job and after all the money they paid for him, he and his club agreed to terminate his contract and now he has returned to Europe playing for Ajax in hope that he is able to make the EUROs for England next summer. What a complete embarrassment and serves him right for choosing money over passion.
I don't know what's going on in Saudi Arabia, Jordan Henderson 6 months from his arrival has returned to Europe now and the likes of Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino are rumored to be unhappy and they want to leave and they were signed on big lucrative contracts. This serves as a reminder that money doesn't always buy happiness and it seems like the Saudi Arabia project is failing so far. A big reason for that is their recruitment as you may have big stars in this league like Cristiano Ronaldo Karim Benzema Neymar Sadio Mane N'Golo Kante Roberto Firmino Riyad Mahrez etc and that's good for the image of the league from a marketing perspective, for me from a footballing perspective, I don't see how this project makes sense because the players that you're signing have won everything there is to win in football meaning that with their crazy paycheck, they can chill and don't have to give much on the footballing field.
The players that you're signing, they're basically mercenaries, guys who are only there for the money and as a result some of them are unhappy and even if you've won everything there is to win, you have to prioritize happiness and passion over money because as important as generational wealth is their financial resources and taking care of their kids and families, it's not buying stars like Benzema and Firmino happiness on and off the field. There are some people believed that the Saudi Pro League might become a top 5 league and a threat to the premier league and other top leagues and what Saudi Arabia are trying to do footballing wise, it's basically like China and that project failed big time convincing players to join a team for money rather than football. With Jordan Henderson back in Europe, Karim Benzema and Roberto Firmino potentially leaving, a player like Mohamed Salah who's been linked with the Middle East should reconsider a move to Saudi Arabia and a big reason for that is with all these stars on loads of money wanting to leave already, why would one of the best players in the world want to leave a top league and play for money when he has a couple of years left in him. The Saudi Arabia project from a footballing perspective, has always been confusing and your league won't grow or develop if you keep signing mercenaries.
Plot twist : Hendo leads Ajax into the UEFA Conference final vs Villa!
clubs taking these disloyal mercenaries back is laughable
Who bothers about ajax in first place ππ
Looking forward to his summer transfer to Man Utd for β¬100m.
Am I understanding this fella right–the current Ajax Skipper is a teenager? There's no way Hendo is going to take marching orders from an U21 for more than a monthπ
