Geo discusses the ‘news’ that emerged last week that stated Lucas Paqueta would NOT be fit for the Brentford (or Everton) match and it would be a risk if David Moyes selected his Brazilian superstar! Also revealed was West Ham United’s shocking win rate without the Hammers playmaker and what the Hammers must do NOW in case Man City activate his £85m release clause

  1. Could be malicious, which would be worrying g as they get their from club insiders, so that would mean people at the club itself are against Moyes.
Or it could have been deliberate disinformation to fool Brentford, suggest Paquetta wont play and if he does he isn’t fit. Moyes has donee similar himself.
Can’t believe anything that comes from the club these days.

  2. Why would you credit moyes against Brentford game ? He without doubt wasnt suddenly change tactics to tell players go out and attack . Never in a million miles and never will in future .

  3. Really pleased with the win and early goals, Pacqueta makes a huge difference and wasn't expecting him to start until I saw an expected line up, the day before. He makes such a difference, but I just wish people would place Bowen up there with him for impact, or at least give Bowen more credit, in spite of a slow start to 2024 – which now with Pacqueta back it can kick on.

Not quite a Dimitri Payet but Pacqueta is Soooooooooooooooo influential.

Bowen, Kudos and Pacqueta will be so vital to any progress – them being all together in the side. I mean from Ben Johnson to Pacqueta! To see him start and play 3/4 of the match was a relief and refreshing – it feels like it's been ages.

Pacqueta has such a hunger for the ball and will scrap for it, bar his histrionics he is a joy to watch – the untidy parts and all.

He works hard gets stuck in but makes it seem so simple, because in theory he doesn't complicate anything.

Bowen has 14 league goals, 2 short of Di Canio's Premier League record of 1999/2000 and only 7 behind Hartson's total of 24 in all competitions for 1997/98.

With Pacqueta playing and Kudos too, Bowen could exceed 25 goals in all comps this season and has 12 games to score 3 league goals to beat Di Canio's aforementioned record tally.

A big issue is defence, I heard today but it might be hearsay – that Moyes wants to extend Zouma's contract… I say this as I read it and wasn't convinced or should I say certainly not convinced Zouma should stay let alone be captain with a contract extension.

Whether anything is to made of this , I don't know…Or if it's relevant, but I think we have defensive issues and Zouma isn't right long term.

  4. Geo, I d be interested in your thoughts… Our kids were world beaters last season, yet it is Klopp and the Liverpool kids who are successfully being integrated into their first team…Why aren't our kids coming through!

  5. Geo, claret and Hugh nail their colors to the mask. They do not sit on the fence regarding moyes, as some do. I take my hat off to them. They say it as it is. Some channels sit on the fence for extra subscribers.

  6. Blocking Claret & Hugh and Claret & Booze has probably been one of the best moves I have done online in terms of my West Ham fandom. Needless negativity, fake news and rumours.

  7. I appreciate all the YouTube fan channels (I don't do other media stuff) for bringing us all things West Ham. Though the trouble can be syphoning out the facts from fiction!
And having to much thought processing, eventually numbs the brain. So rather than just watching lips moving up & down (I believe there's channels dedicated to that?) it's
better to have a deep & meaningful discussion or debate, with fellow like-minded people, on things that really count & matter. Please, please 'The Two G's, keep it real! COYI!

  8. C&H are just the mouthpiece for likes of Sully & Gold in the past. They are happy to pass info on with no questions asked as generates clicks & thats money for them.

  9. Agreed with your analysis as to speculative rumours presented as facts, a very common and most pernicious practice. But what to do regarding Paqueta is surely not simply to plan ahead without him (how do you do that, any player of quality would be in the same position) but to change our football fundamentally. So that he and other talented players would enjoy their football at West Ham and not be tempted to leave. West Ham might then perhaps be able to challenge for domestic trophies. But the record shows that with the present system and manager, we cannot keep any truly talented and creative player because whatever it is that we play every week is not football!
