With Toney in doubt, who should be Arsenal’s summer striker signing?
Easy because Arteta love inteligence player.
Copeium
I think a lot of hate for Havertz come from people who only watch Arsenal's games through TV. They won't be able to see what Havertz is actually doing off the ball and the kind of chaos he can create in the opposition by his runs or positioning. For a while, I couldn't see what Rice was doing either and wondered why he was being praised so much (I'm not in the UK). I think, if the TV camera showed Havertz more, the hate for him will reduce. This can also go for some supporters who actually don't focus on him while being at a stadium and watching the match in person.
What people like to see and point out are only mistakes. There can be 1000 reasons to love a player, but one is enough to generate hate.
I can see that Pokémon book hiding there.
Football manager not giving an accurate definition for a raumdeuter. It's a space investigator. Someone who exploits space…simple as that..
It's a position tonas Muller invented and it's kind of a hybrid between a 10 as a cam and a 10 as a ss… No idea where they have got this wingplay idea
Just because Areteta loves Havertz , that does not mean we should too .🙄😂
You can force me to do that
The only thing for me is that he disappears on the pitch for huge stretches of the game consistently. Then he makes one pass and I remember "oh yeah Kai Havertz is on the team"
If you look at the iconic Raumdeuter whom created the word, Mueller, they tend to play in the 10 and drift into the half spaces and wide to find spaces. Mueller is also defensively active. Less so as he gets older. If you look at Hansi Flick Bayern, Mueller’s play was the closest to what you see Havertz doing. However, Mueller is the creative force and director of Bayern and less defensive than Havertz, but they played a 4-2-3-1 and Arsenal play a 4-3-3. That shift seems to indicate that Havertz has ceded some of the creative control to Odegaard (rightfully) and picks up the defensive duties a little more. Partially because Havertz has an engine like Xhaka. He pendulums well with Rice, because he’s got game intelligence enough to be DM. The other part though is if you watch Havertz, you’ll see he appears in 6-7 positions during a game. He’s played LB for German (inverting and wingback). He plays as DM for Arsenal when Rice goes forward. He’s a Raumdeuter through and through, but he pops out of that role to facilitate the movements when others are creating as well by covering them. Rice or Saliba drive forward, he drops back to cover to allow them to continue their momentum. It brings so much chaos because you don’t know what he’s going to do, that he’s difficult to mark. Maddison, on his best day, doesn’t do that. You mark Maddison out, you get nothing from him. Havertz can’t really be marked out of the game now that people know to look for him & are more used to his movements. And even if you managed to mark him out, his defensive abilities are great. He’s winning second balls for the team to spring attacks. He’s never out of the game. That’s rare. It’s not game changing in terms of goals scoring. It’s game changing in terms of unlocking defenses. Look at every Burnley goal and where Havertz is in the build-up or scoring. He’s right there. West Ham, he was right there for everything. He’s like the ball-bearing grease that makes the other bearings move seamlessly.
How is the Odegaard goal not a Martinelli assist?? Can someone please explain that to me 🤷🤧
I love KING KAI
No!
Mikel loves him a lot. Many people like to say other fans have an agenda against Havertz….
Personally, i don't have anything against him & I don't think other people have an agenda against him. They judge him on what they see. Most of the time the guy plays so casually it's annoying. He lacks intensity.
To me his situation is similar to Granit Xhaka. Xhaka played for Arsenal for 7 years. 5 years of those 7, he was doing stupid things like giving penalties away, needless red cards, committing fouls in dangerous areas etc. How come nobody ever said people have an agenda against Xhaka?
With Havertz, it's difficult to see what exactly he does. What does he really contribute going forward.
People say he is amazing off the ball.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, isn't an attacking player supposed to be judged for his contribution going forward? And how can an attacking player contribute anything if he isn't on the ball?
Someone educate me please, maybe i just don't get it.
Arsenal fans especially those on AFTV are fickle. Creating enemies or the fall out guys within the squad. Same thing happended with Xhaka, Giroud, Ozil the list goes on and on. If you cant see what Kai brings your not looking what happens between the box to box.
James there's a video podcasts, Ehrenpflaume, kinda of like a day and the life.. shows his day to day at home, and at Chelsea. godd insights into the Guy. its all in German tho with subtitles
Havertz price tag and wagers and lack of goals is a problem if we don't win anything this season it will be Arteta fault for wasting money but if we do win something Arteta will get the credit and Havertz was a wonder buy 😂
I love him
Maddison is a very one dimensional no. 10, who’s really good at set pieces. No thanks
HAVERT IS SHITTY, 65M PRICE TAG AND A 320K SALARY IS A RIPOFF WHEN A PLAYER SCORE A GOAL AFTER EVERY 6 GAMES
As a person who has played football manager since it was called 'championship manager', yes, I know about raumdeuter.
He is my favourite player but I'm still confused on how he cost so much
I think this Raumdeuter – definition is not was the Thomas-Müller-Raumdeuter-role was thought of originally.
He now is missed when he's not in the first eleven. Love his movement, his pressing, his aerial duels. His runs to the near post during corners drags the defending team's tall players out of the box. The only thing that infuriates me is his finishing which is atrocious.
James whenever he has to make a point: says something*, *specifies what he’s NOT saying*, *explains point
That intro was quite intense 😳
Havertz has more goals than Jesus, Calvert lewin, Jack grealish, maddison, mudryk, mitoma, szoboslai, Doku, Nkunku
Toney will be 28yrs next year march , what sort of contract will we even give him, since after 30yrs its always 1 yr renewable? i think Arteta known who he will sign. I trust Arteta.
Because of this channel, whenever I see a salt lamp I now think of tactical analysis
Osimhen runs around like a mad man and has very poor tactical discipline. he cannot grasp the technicality of Artetaball and will be offside a million times. Our football does not suit him. He can play in teams that just launch the ball forward to the striker like West ham or Everton.
kai Harvertz is on 280K a week!
the problem with him is that we have to ask ourselves if we cld have signed an out and out striker with his wages and signing fee half of what we got of kai
because of the kai deal we couldnt buy anyone in Jan due to FFP,
now thats not saying we wont win the league with kai but u can understand the frustration behind the deal
Ivan Benjamin Elijah Toney [BET] basically I BET🤣🤣🤣
No we shouldn’t is the answer! He hasn’t done anything to earn our respect or love!
Thanks James for finally giving an Arterta perspective to Kai Havertz 🎉🎉🎉
I have always written here that Havertz will give us a dynamic far superior to all the players we have in the squad.
Arterta is very very smart! Nothing he does is without deep thoughtfulness to detail.
I do love him because of what he does on the pitch. Most people want to see him things to match his price tag, in my opinion he’s doing it but not as much as I would want him to do it 😊
this is the problem. people on youtube don't understand arteta, but criticise his tactics.
Keep up the good work James! Big up from Southern California. Lifelong gunner here.
I like Havertz for this reason you speak of he’s like a floating second striker similar to a sweeper in defense. Offensive sweeper
Question: have you stepped back and looked at some of the things Arteta does and his choices and relate it back to the beginning of the season when he said he came out here to US to talk to Kroenkes other sports teams head coaches like McVay from Rams, Colorado Rapids, etc and their influence on approaching games, starters and finishers which he’s mentioned more than ever during his time at Arsenal…i see some of the tactics strategically towards sports overall that he’s adopted…
Untraditional things like a slot back in NFL runs, catches, blocks, etc similar to Havertz
Thoughts?
Most Arsenal fans are clueless about Arteta's football philosophy abd thebtype of players he wants at Arsenal. Versatility is one of the first qualities Arteta's looks at in a player because in his game he wants unpredictability, player's twitching positions to confuse opponents.
