This was always going to be a tough test for Oxford United. Blackpool are excellent at home and both sides are hunting for wins to keep the promotion dream alive. Neither side got the win though as it finished Blackpool 1-1 Oxford United. Please enjoy my review of this Sky Bet League One game.

This was scrappy with some good and some bad, and you could sense the both sets of players knew it was a must not lose rather than a must win game. Blackpool started the game the better side and took the lead through Matthew Pennington nodding in from a set piece. But, Oxford levelled with a set piece of their own and Mark Harris once again found the net making it 7 goals in his last 9 games. The Tangerines looked the more dangerous side, but failed to work Jamie Cumming apart from 1 magnificent save in the 2nd half, but Oxford will be kicking themselves for spurning 2 guilt edge chances. In the first half Harris & McGuane should have done better on a counter attack, and right at the death Billy Bodin headed against the post from close range when it seemed easier to score than miss. An Oxford United Draw is not the worst thing in the world, but Oxford United fans want and need some wins if the playoff and promotion bid is going to remain alive in EFL league One.

  1. Tough game to judge so interested to know your thoughts. Decent draw against a decent side, but are draws enough at this stage. Oxford ๐Ÿ‚and Blackpool fans ๐ŸŠ let me know what you though of the game and is the playoff dream alive?

  2. Good draw for us today, just a shame we haven't been able to take advantage over the last few weeks, as some of the sides above us have dropped some points. Tough game Tues, we are still in it though. Good review of the game again, another enjoyable video.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  3. Happy with a point. Problem Des has now is most of the players are now available to him so he needs to start winning and Wigan will be a difficult proposition but we are at home and now we need to push on if we are to be a top 6 team. COYY!

  4. Good report Ian. A better performance but we're still missing too many opportunities. Nice to see Sam Long return, good performance, in fact a lot better mostly all round. Feeling more confident for Tues against Wigan.

  5. The chances we missed today were probably because our form and confidence hasn't been good of late. In our early season form we'd have banged those in. We need to find a few wins, doesn't matter how they come, then the confidence comes back and we win games like this. Des has better players at his disposal now, let's hope that turns into points. I think giving Marcus a rest is a good idea.
