Everton ‘s FA Cup showdown against Stevenage on January 25, 2014.
Fortunately it’s not too often in football a player gets such a horrific injury his own team-mates are unable to look, but sadly that’s what happened to Everton’s Bryan Oviedo at Stevenage.

Less than 20 minutes into the FA Cup fourth round tie at Broadhall Way, the Costa Rican went to ground in a challenge on the edge of the Toffees’ penalty box, with awful consequences.

The medics took several minutes to put Oviedo on a stretcher and take him off the pitch, during which time his distraught team-mates were unable to look at his injury.

The extent of the problem is not yet known, but it’s probably safe to say Everton could be without the 23-year-old for some time.
