Is it time to already given Bayern Munich the title NEXT season? After reports indicate Bayern Munich agree to personal terms RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano, ESPN FC’s Jan Aage Fjortoft thinks this could be the best bit of business in recent memory. Craig Burley questions why Leipzig allowed the news to break now, how Bayern won the power battle with other clubs, and what it means for David Alaba and Jerome Boateng. Is this damaging to the Bundesliga? Shaka Hislop, Fjortoft and Burley assess the situation in Germany.

  1. Not a Bayern fan, but this is obviously from an english PL perspective. The top teams are really good, but the majority in the PL is as avarage as the pack in the Bundesliga. Yes, i d rank the PL slightly above other leagues, but its english tradition to overhype their national players and their football. Thats human nature, no problem.
The rest is just hate in the video that a good player didnt choose „their“ league

  2. This is rubbish I think the fa should step in stop bayern from buying forced then to use young players from Germany and players from other clubs in Germany you cant have a team doing this knowing no other team in Germany can do what they doing

  3. Bayern Munich has been the Pinnacle and the standard in European football for a decade. Their transfers are always perfectly targeted, they have great sponsorship, they've already done work on their stadium, and just finished winning 6 trophies.

  4. yeh predicable is why the tv audiance and money isn't as great, and every supporter of every other club is like what's the point, would you pay to watch if there's basically no chance? without that money the clubs and the league shrink.

  5. Leipzig logic: we have one of the best defenders in the world, let’s sell him to a *direct rival**, who are right above us in the league and eventually help them to **another* bundesliga title.

  6. I can't hear this kind of argumentation any more. Top teams buying the best players of smaller teams is a logical thing that happens in any league in any club of the world. I mean why is nobody talking about Dortmund serving themselves every year from the Gladbach squad. How many former Leicester players play for another premier league competitor atm? Barca and Real buy spanish talents from other La Liga clubs. It's the same with Juve and PSG. Why do people allways aplly double standards concerning this topic? Just open your eyes. It happens anywhere.

  7. Bayern wins the league.. but also wins everything in the world.. so no point talking… As a Bayern fan i am super happy and excited.. English clubs have loads of quality players.. but when bayern wins then they say its farmers league.. this is not correct.. Bayern won UCL.. so you mean to say that UCL is farmers league??

  8. Two words. Release clause. Get over it. Acting like United didn't do this for years. And stop insinuating that the Leipzig board weren't prepared for this and haven't sought out replacements because they have been.

  9. Typical of the farmers league/mickey mouse league..
This is the reasoning why bayern keep on dominating the german football and at times Europe
I mean there is no way this kind of deal could ever happen in La Liga or EPL. Where one top club buys the top player of the title challenger club and that too so cheap.
    I mean its incredibly foolish

  10. You can't blame Bayern for improving their team. On the other hand, you can definitely blame Borussia Dortmund's board for not having a big club mentality and going for a reputed manager/coach. After tuchel, there has been not a single coach at Dortmund who could have made big changes at the club, so as to compete with Bayern. Dortmund have an excellent team right now. Haaland, Sancho, Reyna etc. What they lack is a proper coach. Leipzig on the other hand, has made big strides towards the top of German football.

  11. People really defending BL the same team literally wins every single season. Good business on Bayern’s part but just furthers the monopoly of Bayern in bundesliga

  12. Bundesliga fans saying he has the r8 to join the best team in the world are so stupid. Of course upamecano would want to join bayern but it is leipzig's responsibility to not let their star go to a direct rival. If a player leaves for some other country you don't know when you'll face him next but if he leaves for the team that is in 1 or 2 positions of you in your own league that's curtains on your chances to surpass them. If Salah and mane left for City say, would there be any competition left in pl and I belive city would beat bayern too with this new team but liverpool would never allow it coz they are title contenders too, if they were a mid table team then their aim would be too earn money and not think about consequences of losing the player.

  13. English fans should worry about beating Bayern Munich in the UCL because from my recollection when it comes to LONDON teams they’re like 18-4 aggregate in the past 5-6 games 😂😂

  14. All the people defending Bundesliga can't see the socialist take over of the Bundesliga . The only hope for other leagues is to stop buying from Bayern or selling to Bayern .

  15. The credibility had been lost for decades. What the Bundesliga needs to do is to incentivize (larger portion when it comes to the distribution of money) to the finished 2nd or 3rd team with certain conditions that they are committed to building up their team to compete.
Currently, it is a big bullies league.
If nothing is being done, Bundesliga will FOREVER be either 3rd or 4th most watch league in the world.

  16. bunch of idiots.

Chilwell went from Leicester to Chelsea last season. Leicester were directly behind Chelsea in the EPL last season. Chilwell was a key player at leftback for Leicester and were “directly weakened” by a team literally right above them in positions 4 and 5 in the table.

Not a single word about “weakening the opposition” from these fools.

  17. We're losing Alaba & Boateng in the summer and we need a CB regardless whether they stayed or not, because our defense is our main problem right now while RB Leipzig have depth in the back. What they need is funds to get a proper striker, so its a win-win situation, nothing like Dortmund used to be.

Competition at the top of Bundesliga has kept growing every year since 2016 (last year was an anomaly with new manager bounce). We've already been kicked out of DFB Pokal and its not a given we'll win the league this year despite Dortmund underperforming currently, which shows how deep the league is becoming. This discussion is typical surface level analysis, Bundesliga is doing fine XD

  18. I think PL only fans are just salty. Think about this they earn more money than any other league on the world and still they get in to FFP trouble. Also don't forget bundesliga has 51% rule. I think this restricts bundesliga. If this rule is removed I think more investors will come to bundesliga. That will increase its revenue.

  19. All the best players are going to Bayern, because they want to play for one of the best clubs in the World.
And if you want stay on top and be among the 3-4 best teams in the World, you need to have some of the best players.
Very simple. Huge respect for Bayern. They have earned their success by hard work, clever business and by winning titles.
    Very simple
Bayen Munich is not like one of these clubs owned by some Seikh, oil multi billionaires or whateve.Of ourse a man like Upamecano has chosen to play for Bayen.
Good for Upamecamo, good for Bayern and good for peole who enjoy watching an absolute top team play beautiful football.

    Well done Bayern.

  20. Not sure what's so hard to understand about what Jan Aage said, How is it a sign of a strong league to have the same team win it every season? People knock the french league for exactly that reason.

  21. EPL, LA LIGA, MLS AND EVEN BRAZILIAN LEAGUE FANS HAVE BEEN PREACHING IT FOR YEARS. BUNDESLIGA IS A FARMERS AND MONOPOLY LEAGUE LOL. DOSEN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO KNOW THIS. THEY ALWAYS SIGN THE BEST PLAYERS FROM RIVALLING CLUB WITHIN THEIR LEAGUES RESULT IN THAT RIVAL CLUB NOT COMPETING COME NEXT SEASON RESULTING IN BAYERN WINNING THE LEAGUE AGAIN WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT. I SOMETIMES FEELS AS IF THEY SECRETLY CO OWN SOME OF THE CLUB WITHIN THE LEAGUE. EITHER IN 2022 WINTER OR SUMMER WINDOW THEY WILL SIGN ERILING HAALAND REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH THE LIKE OF MADRID, BARCE OR PSG ARE WILLING TO BUY HIM FOR. BAYERN MONEY IS DEEM MORE IMPORTANT.

  22. A Top Eleven friend of mine who lives in Germany asked me why I stop watching The Bundesliga. I straight up tell him his league is too predictable and I'm not a fan of predictable leagues like the ones in Germany and France. I can't bet on a small team to cause PSG or Bayern upset nor can I scratch my head and be like I wonder who will win the league this time around. I only watch EPL, La Liga, Brazilian Série A and Categoria Primera A Columbia because those league are more entertaining, unpredictable, more talents are being created and small teams does beat big teams 5/10 times. Those leagues don't have a team singing rivalling players without paying overpriced and pushing the boundaries nor is lead by a one man army winning the league 4+ times in a row.

  23. It's about the long term viability of the league as an entertainment product. They don't rake in big numbers as is now imagine how little interest the football public will have in the league if Bayern win another 9 straight leagues which is likely. It's good for Bayern and the players joining Bayern but it's terrible for all the other teams and I can't imagine those Bayern players actually value a Bundesliga medal, there's literally zero competition.

  24. why it isn't good for their best players to stay in their league? I like the player I i would like to see him at UTD, but Bayern was quicker and fair play to them.
