Is Álvaro Morata CAPABLE of Being the Main Striker? Analyzing the Morata and Higuain Transfers

The transfers of Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid and Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea are apparently on the way to new clubs. Alvaro Morata has failed at Chelsea, while Gonzalo Higuain has struggled at Milan, and hasn’t been capable of finding his form from when he played with Napoli. So, will a return to Madrid for Alvaro Morata reignite the spark in his career, or is he incapable of being the number one striker? And for Higuain, will a reunion with Sarri get his form trending in the right direction? How will Higuain fit in at Chelsea?

As well, we’ll quickly look at the transfer of Krzysztof Piątek from Genoa to AC Milan.

  1. From what I've seen of Morata, he's at his best playing in a 4-2-3-1 with a playmaker directly behind him. On his best scoring form when James Rodriguez was playing behind it. The way Chelsea and Juve set up doesn't bring out the best of his abilities based on his scoring record.

  2. Hey nice vid I love your content and I love Your roots of the rivalry series. Could you do the Madrid derby I’m a huge Athletico fan and I would really appreciate it.

  3. No more Italians coaching Chelsea. First Conte, now this sh*t show with Sarri. Roman should boot him and get a good coach for once. Jardim or even Lopetegui would do the job.

  4. I mean to me Morata is a better 2nd striker he doesn’t have what a started needs and if he goes to Real Madrid rival then he is going to get shit on and on those games Madrid fans are going to hate him which hurts because I feel that he shouldn’t of felt Madrid bc he wasn’t going to win anything at Chelsea

  5. I feel sorry for Morata. I personally think that he is a decent striker and a move back to Spain is best for him. However I am worried that because he played for Real Madrid, Atletico fans might be hostile. Maybe he should go to Sevilla instead.

Also I think Higuain might struggle. Although he played well under Sarri before at Napoli that was a long time ago and he was pretty poor recently. He didn't even start the Italian Supercup for AC Milan.

  6. It went wrong when Chelsea signed him. I don't blame him. I fully, fully strongly blame the board for his struggles. They must be frustrating for the Chelsea fans, man. Guys like Courtois and Costa blatantly wanted out but they didn't have any targets identified to replace them. Like seriously? C'mon! In the end, they panic-signed Kepa and Morata. Kepa's been decent but poor Morata just didn't suit them. He's not a target-man.

  7. What's up Adrien?
Is it possible for you to do a player bio about Jakub 'Kuba' Blaszczykowski? He deserves one for sure. He is so dedicated to his club that he loans them money and want to play for free. He's a player who some young players need to look up to, always humble, always nice and he fights for his team in every match. In my eyes an absolute legend! Einmal Boruse, immer Borusse!

  8. Hey in your Benfica career mode can you call Jovic back from loan. I think he’s a 79 overall and I think he’d be good for the Benfica squad.

  9. i think he'll do well at atletico at chelsea there's just so many factors and things that haven't gone well for morata at chelsea I just thing he shouldnt be at chelsea its better for him and he's health

  10. Morata has all the physical attributes to succeed. Hes strong, fast, has a good shot and can dribble quite well (assist for Cuadrado vs Bayern 2016). However he lacks the mental attributes to succeed at the highest level. He wilts under pressure and sulks when things dont go his way. As a substitute there is less pressure on you and less blame when you don't score. Compare him to Diego Costa who was an absolute warrior for Chelsea who never gave up and was always willing to do anything for team. Morata will never be a top striker because he lacks the mental toughness to succeed at the highest level. HOWEVER, if there is anyone who instill that mental toughness in him it is Diego Simeone. Morata could use some cholismo in him and Simeone and the striker factory at Atletico Madrid can provide that

  11. Higuain had excellent overall seasons at Madrid in 2009-12 too. The president and managers favored Ronaldo and Benzema at his expense, but especially in comparison to Benz produced better numbers and was more consistent. Questions can be asked about his mentality around big games as he's generally underwhelmed in the CL & WC though.
