With worldwide lockdown still in full swing, amidst an ongoing pandemic, no one is quite sure what sort of state club’s finances will be in at the start of the transfer window.
With this in mind, we have decided to analyse the best “bargain buys” in Europe. Covering players from PSG, Real Madrid and Man City, we dive into the possible benefits of signing free agents Edinson Cavani and David Silva, as well as former World Cup star James Rodriguez.
Often the best way to bring in players on a shoestring though is to target players approaching the end of their contract. Juventus and Inter Milan target Sandro Tonali fits into this bill, as does former Newcastle United player Florian Thauvin, now ripping it up at Marseille.
