Conor Roberts was the best right back in the championship last season Spence was the best right back in the championships with forest but that was some time ago Conor Roberts is more relevant now & upgrade IMO on Spence Ayling & Shacks, Also Archie in midfield brings another dimension for us. Can’t see any point to this January window now. ffp has changed the landscape, for the bigger clubs who are unable to buy their way out of trouble. Which in turn helps the lower league clubs hold onto their players in January.
Also have Struik who is experienced and more than capable at LB in this league if required.
It's good to see a measured response without panic buying or needlessly bringing players in.
I've always got one eye on the loan players we have away from the club, who will be on a fair crack and some seem likely to be back at ER whether we want them or not.

I think Roberts is a really smart piece of business that should fit in well.
I know for a fact that Spence was pissing about with commitment to the club and duties. Nice guy but, commitment wasn't there.
I couldn't see us bring a LB in this window because of Firpo's wages, and if he continues on this form we could get a decent fee on him in the summer to then replace. Ampadu provides the depth in CB and Gruev has stepped in there perfectly. We couldn't attract an attacking player because who do you drop? As you've said Conor we can't guarantee minutes for anyone coming in. What I also like about Roberts is that we will be able to move Archie into CM and he's offers something different than the rest going forward.
