If Virgil says he is definately staying at the club it weakens his negotiation position for his next contract and also he can’t be sure the owners won’t want to cash in on him at age 32 so far too much is being made of his initial comments.. he should not have to publicly discuss his future contracts

Liverpool are not the best team in Europe. A player may want to go to ANY NUMBER of teams – city, real, barca, munich, United – because believe it or not. if i signed a 5 yr deal like salah. i'd be leaving this summer.
Klopp didn’t make his decision until November all the signings where brought in long before that.. so players don’t have the complaint “why didn’t he tell me that when he was signing me”

Virgil probably crying over this criticism right? I mean it was definitely taken out of context. His initially quotes included the words 'we' 'us' ie he was referring to the team and not knowing what would happen to 'them' after Klopp leaves. Journalists should be able to understand those words.
Journalist asks player a question. Player answers the question after he repeatedly brushed them off but kept getting asked. Gets blamed for the timing of his comments. Ok. Great.
Tbf Virgil is right to put pressure on FSG. They can't miss with the appointment of the next manager, players like him won't want to waste the next 2-3 years in post-Klopp-transition. The players will want assurance that the club is staying on the right track.

Murphy's waffling! 😂🤣 he knows full well many players joined Liverpool primarily because Klopp is manager and secondly because it's Liverpool. So i would want to know how long this manager who came for me is going to be at the club now Liverpool was a hard sell before kloop and when you got top players with in 3 seasons they were gone for the money that all changed under kloop utd fan am so happy but i will miss kloop we all enjoyed him Liverpool
