  1. Don't be fooled please, the things you see about him playing are about 5% of what it actually looks like. There's a reason he's still in Belgium at the age of 30, he just isn't that good. He's a fairly dirty player, goes down when a light breeze touches him and is generally a very annoying character on and off the pitch. No one in Belgium rates him apart from Bruges fans, we'd honestly be better off burning the money we'd pay for him than to be stuck with him for 3 years or so. Edit: in addition, scoring goals against teams like Eupen and Kortrijk doesn't make you a prolific goal scorer, A lot of players score a lot of goals in Belgium and go on to do nothing in another league.

  2. Its a decent possible signing. We are NOT a newly promoted team, so no need to go nuts on big youth potential signings. Its clear that the club are building slowly whilst also covering injuries and squad depth for the here and now.

This guy might bring valuable brains and a staple maturity of a professional used to winning weekly, much like the signing of Thilo Kehrer. This is not random.

Sometimes a forced choice may end up more beneficial and I think Moyes and the coaching staff can make it work.

Great Vid always, big fan of the channel guys.

    "Av it!!!". Regards, John Smiths.

  3. Moyes is pursuing the Red Bull model. I've arrived at practicing the 'Load of Bull' model…whose the winning manager that's attained their objectives now eh?

  4. Vanaken and a LB and I'd be very happy with this transfer window. Could argue we'd need even more but 8 signings would not be bad at all.

  5. Agreed Gonzo. We wouldn't want to spend big bucks on an older player. But £10m ish for a proven goalscorer and provider that we can get 4 years from seems like good business, especially when most of our signings have been youngish. Average age of the squad has been reduced in this window and we've already bought the replacements for Fab, Oggie and Dawson.

  6. This sounds like it’s be an upgrade on souceks best contributory attributes too ? The best I’m told soucek offers is goals (?) and workrate personally I’d like to see someone as you describe him, in front of rice getting up and down with license and knowing eg Flynn just sitting as insurance ?

  7. To be honest Gonzo I think another Dawson signing isn't a bad idea, even if it is to fill the no.s then so be it, haven't we all moaned about our no.s well here you go lets get behind our boys and drive them forward cos at the end of the day its us the fans that suffer no one else, its our club and we will be here when all of these players retire (I.e NOBLE… a lot of us was here for his whole career) so lets just stand behind it

  8. Vanaken doesn't excite me to be honest. Just another big lump who is only good at scoring goals with his head. There's no flair or pace in this team whatsoever. Moyes just wants to turn the team into a bunch of giants that can score from set-pieces & crosses. Total dinosaur mentality.

  9. Great positive content Gonzo👏, I think the main reason we have struggled to recruit in the midfield role is no one wants to play second fiddle to Rice so close to the World Cup. When Rice is fit and is not suspended he plays👍⚒.

  10. Just found a Brugge official video of 100 Vanaken goals. He reminds me of that Poywt or Lampard role at Chelsea, on the penalty spot, arriving late, scoring with both feet and his head. Looks handy. If he adapts he could be brilliant.

  11. As long as Moyes will play him, go for it. Can't be worse than Lanzini in current form and might give him the kick up the butt he needs if nothing else

  12. We need a flair player in middle field positive signings i agree but budget shouldn't be an issue haller vlasic Diop left do the numbers investment hasn't been enough managed like market trader not management issue board issue

  13. 60 70 million out 30 40 million spent real ambition don't improve in danger of becoming mid table Southampton aston villa top 4 been up for grabs for past few seasons the likes of villa Leicester wovles have invested more then we have got to speculate to accumulate the fact that we been side few points outside top four with very little investment proves boards intentions

  14. Expecting to fight for top 7 and play in Europe with 22 man squad is unrealistic cant tempted top players get that but there's trossard dendocker maupay all can be got at

  15. I am a big fan of moyes but let's face it was brought in coz can manage a team on small budget hence reason we couldn't get a conti or an ancelotti after a poor season in 12 14th be blaming manager calling for his head guaranteed
