Moises Caicedo… Let me know your thoughts on the Chelsea midfield in the comments below! I think Caicedo is rapidly becoming a key player in this Chelsea midfield. Could Gallagher’s consistent position in the team be questioned? Is Lavia’s return from injury the next step to unlock more of Caicedo at Chelsea?

  1. @George Benson.
    I totally disagree with your analysis on M.Caicedo I don’t see him commands and owns his sector/position doesn’t make powerful driving runs, he doesn’t command or communicate with his teammates & his passing is mid! Looks like a mid player & he’s not worth noway near 100+ million I just don’t see nothing special about him he’s slow on the ball & I honestly think R.Lavia is the better player! Brighton keep fleecing us with these Systematical good players I;e Cucurella Caicsedo Sanchez NOT IN GENERAL GOOD PLAYERS Because they looks lost at Chelsea football club! We’re scouting wrong we need to fix up & stop buying Systematical good players that only look good or play good in a system that suits the managers style of football or club! & buy good all rounder players that are versatile within a system or not! because we’re getting pumped left right & centre. Because in the Premier League a lot of the time your gonna have to use your own initiative & kick thinking on & of the ball actions because the Premier League is fast & furious different levels so it’s important that we stop this way of scouting it’s ridiculous!

  2. Glad he is getting the time to slowly adjust to get his form not everyone has had the luxury (perhaps Mudryk). He has been decent in a few recent games and Gallagher he should be scoring goals esp from the position he is playing.
    Even when the issue is strikers it’s our midfield ppl are critical about. No one faces more scrutiny than Enzo on fee, assist and goals when he is the one with most and performing since day one. It’s unfair.
    Enzo, Caucedo and Gallagher has been putting in a lot of effort, each have their best skills and if played in their best positions will be even better!

  3. George enjoyed your commentary. Its well thought and perfectly done.
    I believe one other fan has touched on the issue of Caicedo and Enzo being able to read each other’s plays, and having the technical skills to perform in a tandem.
    If you look at most South American players; they possess that natural talent for technical skill in football. If you watch any World Cup qualifying matches with either Ecuador or Argentina – you can see the difference in their style of play, when they play for their country as opposed to play at a club level.!They read each other’s mind . Even at Chelsea, both these players know what the other intends to do with the ball . Next time observe how they play with Thiago Silva. They can read each other’s plays.
    What Gallagher lacks is that technical skill. He has tons of energy and aggressiveness . But at times he over does it; meaning that he gets in the way of his teammates. A good example of his performance was when he played for C.Palace. He seemed to have a knack of scoring goals; but at Chelsea he appears over-anxious.
    The fact that Pocchetino has made him the Captain seems to be putting a burden on his performance , I think .
    Hopefully Poch can find a resolution to utilizing the talents of all three players in a positive manner .
    Good luck Chelsea with the game vs Liverpool .

  4. I’m with you I think Gallagher is not in the same class as Caicedo and Enzo and sadly think he should be sold to help pay for a top class striker along with Chalobah and Broja ,it would balance the books, also with the money from Maatsen and Lewis hall at the end of the season and being all home grown FFP will be no problem to us , these sales will not weaken the team as we have Lavia to replace Gallagher and Nkunku can play in Broja position till we buy a center forward ,the squad is to big when and if we ever get them all fit .❤

  5. Sorry for late comment

    I just want to see this trio midfield like we won premiere league with Matic, Kante, Fabregas

    Fabregas = Enzo
    Matic = Caicedo
    Kante = Gallagher

  6. As poor as some of his performances have been this season, I've never been on the anti-Caicedo bandwagon because I know how good he is.

    It reminds me of Ashley Cole's first season in a Chelsea shirt. We were being mocked relentlessly for swapping William Gallas to get him, but look at what he and Chelsea went on to achieve together after that.

    That said, I don't think we need to change the narrative on Gallagher to make that point. Both Gallagher and Caicedo are Chelsea through and through and it would be a travesty if we sold him.

  7. Caicedo and Enzo will never be in a side that competes for the title sorry. Neither are good enough in their positions and are a dime a dozen player. Actually need a proper DM who holds down a midfield, and a creative CAM to go along with Gallagher being out box to box CM. But we won’t bc the board is stubborn and won’t admit when they made a mistake, so we will be stuck in 4-8 for a few years until they change and bring in other players. Only chance is if Caicedo plays fullback and then inverts when attacking which is his best position

  8. He was always a good player at Brighton but he needs to know his role and pattern of play. At Brighton he was definitely an upgrade from Bassoma who was already a great player for Brighton. Super stars are good in nearly any side, Good players need good managers to get their best.

  9. Gallagher's strengths, such as dynamic play and a relentless work rate, contribute energy and tenacity to the team. However, his weaknesses include a noted low football intelligence, affecting his ability to scan the field, make strategic decisions, and exploit spaces effectively, particularly in finding players in half spaces. This deficiency extends to his struggles with precise passing, especially over-the-top balls, often opting for conservative passes. Gallagher also faces challenges in escaping pressing situations and lacks the instinct to turn and face the goal. Despite these shortcomings, the narrative acknowledges ongoing improvement in Gallagher's game, highlighting the potential for growth and refinement in his skill set, including the crucial aspect of locating players in half spaces.

  10. There has always been an agenda behind certain media channels which use their bias to negatively alter public perceptions against anything that is different to what they are use to.
    Caicedo is the engine behind the Ecuadorian team who are growing in strength and so Chelsea should follow their steps give him that trust, pass him the ball. 🇪🇨

  11. The issue is he was 130 million. Its not his fault at all but nobody besides Mbappe is worth anything near that. Caicedo has been fine but he looks like a 50m player not a 130 player.

  12. If you’d pay upwards of 50 mill you perception of CG would be so different, see those stats you put up with each player ? Only Enzo has 2 goals all other areas CG got them Beat

  13. Moises Caicedo is a like a Ferrari, BUT Pochetino uses him just to go around the block. Simple as that. In key matches when we could see him bright it was because of Pochetino‘s instructions to him changed and players and rolls changed. As Chelsea has shown to have issues with they defence and as one of Caicedo’s qualities is to be a defensive player then that explains why he has been filling that gap.

  14. Gallagher is a good midfielder but he should focus more on defending instead of attacking, just like Mikel, because he does not contribute much in the attacking game. A mdf 3 with Enzo Connor Caicedo is too defensive minded none of them are strong going forward so if you ask me replace one of them for a midfield 3 with Palmer as the 10 the link between mdf and attack Because our attacking game is boring we depend too much on individual class of players or mistakes of the opponents when these players don't have their day or the opponents defence don't give us nothing we allready know the max we are getting is a point.

  15. GBFC you have been very critical of MC which I believe was very unfair. You all forgot how he never had a preseason, the psychological pressure and trauma he went through around his transfer saga, went on strike at his club and above all how he fought so hard to come to Chelsea when you especial thought we have lost him to Liverpool. Check the comment session of that video and you will see my comment how positive I was very much about him signing for Chelsea and being a good signing for Chelsea. Most times you are so emotional and get carried away by the positive but especially the negative.

  16. People forget caicedo didn't play the entire summer. He joined Chelsea without a preseason but now he is in full rhythm. Absolute baller that should be allowed to pushup more. For Ecuador he does everything and outclasses every other midfielder he plays. He just needs more freedom and he will be a Chelsea legend.

  17. Great video. Finally someone with some football sense. Caicedo is so consistent, it's ridiculous. He's only 22; watch the review videos of his games; he misses one pass, maybe misstackles twice per GAME! And his forward passing, contrary to what some football dimwits say, is superb; almost always unexpected, usually very dangerous and generally misplayed by the forwards. When he doesn't play, Chelsea LOSES (he always plays, of course, and is NEVER subbed; when he doesn't play, he´s severely missed —i.e. first Newcastle game, Wolves)! So, yeah, he was included in that terribly unfair debut at only 21; Poch put him in when Chelsea was in shambles, losing, playing terrible, Caicedo with only a week of training; Poch subbed him in to give him minutes (which he needed)… but he wasn't able to do find his footing, no one could could, given those circumstances (not even Kante – who debuted with a sitting PL-champion, let's not forget!). But since the West Ham game, it's been very consistent from him. Starting with Luton, the first time we really got to see how he pulls the strings in a midfield, and from then on, that's all he's done; he facilitates defense – midfield – forwards the entire game. The problem is up-front, no doubt about it. Chelsea still have huge issues there. I actually think Chelsea's midfield is OVER-performing given its current forward line. It's a difficult road when there's literally NO experience; the only experienced player on the squad is TOO old, way too old, wouldn't start in any other top-tier PL side (still, what a massive player he is, but just imagine the responsibility for Tiago Silva to be the only over-30 player at 40)! And the uber-forward at Chelsea? He was a sub at City – I don't even think he would be a consistent starter even now that he has proven himself at chelsea, were he back with Pep… It says a lot that Palmer is Chelsea's top scorer and he's not even the center forward. Just goes to show how weak and under-performing the strikers have been. Sterling, Mudryck, Broja, Jackson are below Chelsea level, and they're all Chelsea's got. They're no Costa, Hazard, Salah, Torres, Drogba… I mean, Caicedo does NOT have that team around him; he has no Fabregas, no Matic, no Willian, no Oscar. He has players that (Sterling aside) in three years may start showing that level, but not yet. If Chelsea want to win consistently, the entire forward line should be performing like Palmer is now, and that's not happening. Sterling really should be showing up more; he does good things in games, but he's not on the scoresheet! Statistically, Cole Palmer should be the second or third highest scorer if we compare with other top-performing PL teams, where your forward (Isak, Haaland, Saka, Watkins, etc etc) are hitting the mark. I mean, one easily forgets Caicedo's age. Caicedo seems like an experienced player on the pitch. Sometimes Enzo doesn't show up in games, sometimes Gallagher loses it, fumbles, makes childish mistakes, gets out of position… they're both great players, but Caicedo always looks like the most experienced of the three (yet, ironically, he's the youngest). Imagine what he'll be like at 25!

  18. 100 percent accurate. Been saying this from time we purchased both lavia and Caicedo. It was mind boggling to me how no one realized that is what Chelsea wants to do to get the most out of the midfield and they prolly gonna drop lavia and play a pivot of Enzo and Caicedo when the team is playing both nkunku Palmer and victor (if he comes). Seems obvious what they tryna do to me

  19. all that caicedo does is passback so enzo and conor drop back to progress the play, the average ball receiving position for both enzo nad conor is deep than caicedo, if you build a team around caicedo you will be a mid team like brighton and we are chelsea please dont tell me give time chelsea is not about time, its about winning it has alwasy been. accept the fact that caicedo is not good enough
