Andrej Kramaric | Skills and Goals | Highlights
Andrej Kramarić (Croatian Andrej Kramarić; June 19, 1991, Zagreb, Yugoslavia) is a Croatian footballer, striker of the German club “Hoffenheim” and the Croatian national team.
Kramaric started playing football at the school of Dynamo Zagreb at the age of six. During his time playing for Dynamo children’s and youth teams, he scored more than 450 goals in various tournaments, which became a club record for young players.
Andrei Kramaric played his first match for the first team of the club on May 24, 2009 in the Croatian league match against Zagreb. He entered the field in the 69th minute, replacing Josip Tadic. This match was the only match for Kramaric in the first season.
The following season, Kramaric was transferred to the main team of Dynamo. On July 15, 2009, he made his Champions League debut in the match against Yerevan Pyunik, which ended in a goalless draw. Over the entire season, Kramaric played 24 league matches (7 goals), 5 National Cup matches (4 goals) and 5 European Cup matches.
In February 2012 Andrei Kramaric was loaned to Lokomotiv Zagreb. Playing for this club, Andrei became one of the most productive footballers in southeastern Europe, scoring 21 goals in 45 matches over a season and a half. In the 2012/13 season, he became the second top scorer in the Croatian championship with 15 goals, behind only Leon Benko.
There were high hopes for Kramaric’s return to Dynamo, with many observers predicting that he would become the goal-scoring striker the team needed last season. Andrey also stated that he would like to become the main forward of the club. However, Dynamo coach Krunoslav Yurchic preferred to use a couple of forwards Due Chop and Ante Rukavina, and then Kramarich announced his disappointment and desire to have more playing time in the press. The director of the club, Zdravko Mamich, did not like this, who put the young striker on a transfer.
Rijeka took advantage of the differences between Kramaric and Dynamo and offered him a contract, which was signed on 31 August 2013. Kramaric played the first match for his new club in the Croatian league on September 15, 2013 against Slaven Belupo, appearing in the first team, and in the 15th minute he scored the goal, which was the only one in this meeting.
On October 9, 2013 Andrei Kramaric scored 8 goals in the first round match of the Croatian Cup against the club of the third division “Zmaj Blato” (11: 0). This became Croatia’s national goalscorer record for top-tier competition.
In December 2013, in the Croatian championship match against Istra (3: 3), Kramaric scored a hat-trick, while still not converting a penalty. In total, in his first season at Rijeka, Andrei scored 27 goals in all tournaments, including 16 in the league (he scored 2 more goals at the beginning of the championship for Dynamo), won the 2013/14 Croatian Cup, and in July 2014 won the country’s Super Cup in a match against his former club Dynamo.
In the first two matches of the 2014/15 season, Kramaric scored 5 goals, including a hat-trick against Hajduk. After six matches, he scored 10 goals, and with his performance he earned his first call to the national team. Kramaric’s high performance attracted attention from the big clubs.
On January 8, 2015, Kramaric moved to Leicester City, signing a contract until the summer of 2018. His first goal for Leicester City was scored on 10 February 2015 against Arsenal.
On January 20, 2016 he was transferred on loan to Hoffenheim until the end of the season.
On March 12, 2016, at 2 minutes, he scored the winning goal against Wolfsburg in a match that ended 1-0, also earned a penalty that was not converted.
On May 26, 2016, Hoffenheim bought the rights to the player.
