      Philips can't play in Man City because he's not so good with the ball in small spaces. West Ham fit him perfectly and don't expect to pass the ball around overmatched by a high press. A superb signing.

      I bet West Ham falls in love with him and buys him at the summer.

      Phillips is an utterly useless player that had somehow won The Treble from the bench. He contributed literally nothing. Unfortunately he's just another English clogger Safegate believes is like prime Xavi.

      The uneducated comments here need some correction.
      As for Barca, Juve etc. looking for Kalvin Phillips it comes down to the usual.
      Money.
      They wouldn't even be able to pay his wages nevermind anything else.
      Secondly as for cell phone Simons appraisal it's nonsense.Phillilps is there as a player that dictates the play not as a James Maddison. He's used as a player that keeps the ball and imposes his TEAMS game on the opposite team.
      Man city don't have to do that anymore.
      Finally, Phillips was officially voted English player of the tournament when Kane bottled his penalty and Italy beat England to win the Euros.
      English have extremely short memories.

      Love Pep but he literally gave him zero chances at all. Even non important games he kept him on the bench. He’s signed to play , he was always going to wait as long as possible to try get in the team. Glad he’s been given a chance now.

      dont get why we speak about philips as if hes some footballing great just cause city bought him. played about 50 games in prem at leeds, was very good but not unreal

      Man had one good tournament for England, and people thought he was Rodri. Guardiola's given him plenty of time in training to meet standards at the club and have a good look at his progress, and he clearly hasn't, which he why he's been allowed to go.

      I hope to see JWP selected in the West Ham team before Phillips, just as it should be for England.
      But the sad part, unfortunately we have Southgate in that job.

      Philips is a perfect example as to why Man City are bad for English football. They scoop up young English talent so no-one else can get them, and then they spend most of the time on the bench.

      Leeds fans will tell you that he’s never been the same since he got that bad injury in his last season with us. He was quite poor in his last few months for the club. Murphy is also right that pre-Bielsa making him none of us would have cared if he had been sold to another Championship club.
