Joseph needs to bide his time and take his chances when they do come. Problem for me is he's too much akin to Piroe and he's not similar to Bamford. He's a great finisher from what I've seen in the U21s but he isn't one to make opposing CBs nervous….. Problem for us is, we desperately need a stand in for Bamford, who performs Bamfords role, because I believe that Bamford is the answer to low block teams. Without him we've severely struggled, to break them down because Rutter/Piroe play in front of them and they lap that up where Bamford plays amongst them and they generally struggle with his movement.
Low block teams against Bamford seem to concede early, which forces them to change the game plan, and most don't really know how. Their goal is to hit us on the counter or wait for a set piece opportunity and take their limited chances…. Birmingham tried it, Cardiff tried their low block strat and bamford unsettled them, and they didnt have a plan B. When they try to implement a plan B on the fly, we're then able to pick them off.
On the Doig front. I was under the impression he's gone to Sassuolo (however you spell it).
