Never witnessed any big named -man getting as little game time as Phillips.

2:20 Stevie's not quite correct there. Kalvin Phillips isn't a proven premier league player beyond those final two injury hit seasons at Leeds.
Curtis Jones, who is almost 23, is a guy whom many fans would say is still finding his feet at this level. Yet he has made more premier league appearances than the "proven" Kalvin Phillips who is over 5 years older than Curtis. No one really knows what Kalvin looks like as premier league player outside of those two seasons under Bielsa. Now, add almost 2 seasons of virtual inactivity at City, you have a 28 year old with less than 2 seasons worth of appearances of top flight football. That is about an unknown commodity as it gets.

Pep cruelly sacrificed him to stamp his authority on the rest of his squad, I wonder if someone in Kalvin's family gave pep (God) a blunt Leeds style ear bashing. Who knows what goes on at the most powerful corrupt football club in the world. Kalvin if he stays fit will get the last laugh, because the boy is class.
He is good for other teams. He is just not on city's level. Plus he got to be trained by the best coach so that's a benefit to the team he is going.
I think there is a top player there. He is has grit and toughness of Gattuso but has the passing of Pirlo. There is a reason Bayern, Barcelona, Juve are still interested in despite not playing for Man City. He dominated Italy despite not being match fit. The main reason he doesn’t play for City is because Rodri the best 6 in the world plays in his position.
