Montreal management have to look in the mirror and be honest about Primeau, he is not an NHL goaltender especially at backup.
How many chances do you give a guy who literally stands between the pipes like a pylon.
Sometimes he plays well, but just like a broken clock, it shows the right time twice a day or just about the same frequency Primeau has a good game.
What Montreal must address is the fact that they have had only about 10 wins during regulation time out of the 40 + so far this season.
That is a telling sign. Marty has to change this number for the better.
Yes, this is rebuild.
But the team seems to throw its best players in its first line, it's best forwards on the power play or killing penalties.
Players earn their ice time.
This approach doesn't seem to apply to Primeau. It reminds me of regular season Price being put in nets when he couldn't stop a beach ball and Montreal had to finally turn to a back up to have a remote chance of a sniff of a playoff spot.
Yes, this is a rebuild year it is where players learn their job playing NHL hockey. But those who are just showing up for a skate should sit on the bench
