I’m definitely on the side of sack Skocic. He’s done great for what we needed him for, but if we can’t beat South Korea in 2 games under him, we surely won’t beat any teams at the World Cup, he’s not a big game coach and can’t compete with teams of similar caliber. He’s failed both of his only true tests (draw w/ SK in Tehran is a loss in my eyes)

Amir abedzadeh was not up to the task and it was a game of great importance for him and for the choice of the coach. As you said so well, the goal before half-time totally atrophied us. The position of goalkeeper is a position with many talented players. If he repeats this kind of performance, I think Beiranvand deserves his place as a starter! Let's give Amir one last chance 🌷

There were many issues in the game against Korea. 1. Our defenders could not easily get out of the press and pass the ball to our midfield and attacking players in transition. We could not get out of our own half. That was also because of Milad in left back. 2. We missed our 6 important players for this game. 3. Aref gholami replacing shoja was a total mistake at right back. 4. Amir should have saved the first goal. This also shows how weak we are in our sub players when we don't have our main starting 11. We need good friendly matches against good teams so we learn how to transition fast from defense to attack when under pressure.

I have no energy for watching this game , I just want Skocic to go…

It’s easy to judge a game after it has ended. In my eyes there were too many changes, both tactically, formation, and players as compared to all the rest of the games we have had better results under this coach. I look to this as a learning opportunity for the coaching staff, at the cost of looking outclassed against our long-standing rivals. But only insert one change not multiple ones. Either insert the new players using the formation that had proven effective, or change the formation for the same team for experimental reasons. If we learn from this I’m ok with the poor results. But the coach still needs to proof this point to me before I fully support him. I hope we just don’t start playing ‘daymee’!!! Old Iranian style!

Apart from Gholami's right back position which was obviously wrong, I personally had issues with Skocic's decision to not bring on Mehdi Torabi who is a key player for his club Perspolis and could have perhaps had a positive impact on the game had he come on in place of Vahid Amiri who had a rare below average performance. Also making two substitutions with less than five minutes remaining will not make any difference when the team is two goals down and I think that was another mistake by Skocic.
However, mistakes and wrong decisions are made by even the best coaches in the world and in every professional sport which can result in disaster from time to time and sacking Skocic who has already done so much for our National team after just one defeat can not be the right decision to make at this point and the opportunity of fixing what went wrong in this game must be given to him and his coaching staff.

Lebanon is going to have a really bad day this Thursday. I know I say this a lot, but what is Iran going to do? Hole! Hole!
