Amadou Onana is stalling on a move to West Ham United as he prefers a switch to Everton, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

West Ham have been chasing the Belgium international midfielder throughout the summer and have now agreed a fee with Lille for his services.

They are set to pay €35m plus €5m in add-ons for Onana, but do not yet have an agreement on personal terms with the player.

It has been claimed Onana’s entourage are on a different wavelength to West Ham on personal terms, leaving the Hammers with work to do.

However, West Ham have a further obstacle to overcome as Onana would prefer to sign for Everton.

Everton are keen on Onana and are expected to sign a further midfielder after they capture Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain.

Onana is stalling on a move to West Ham in the hope that a route to Goodison Park opens up.

  1. Too expensive. Explore Anton Stach, Ambrosius (Maier another option but just signed for Ausburg). Burkardt for DCL. Cheap, young, potential unless communication issues.

  2. Bring it on. We need STEEL and consistency in our midfield at Goodison. Onana looks like the fit we need. If it means Doucoure (eee awwww) pisses off then thats perfect. Dont even get me started on Tom Davies – I hear Derby County want him – Im happy to pay his taxi fare, the fat waste of space.

We are skint however. For christs sake, Frank….give us some identity and be brutal

  3. Looks like a real talent from this clip. Goes to ground a lot with tackles in the video, hopefully he stays on his feet enough in reality as those long legs could be a tripping hazard in and around the box 🤞

  4. Like what i see from this, just need a bloody striker now and maybe, just maybe, we won't be heading for the Championship this time next year. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for this season
