Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright discuss whether Nick Sirianni deserves more criticism for how the Philadelphia Eagles are performing this NFL season, whether it makes sense for the New England Patriots to move on from Bill Belichick but where he could land that makes the most sense.

  1. Roseman isn't a good drafter. He is great at cap management, making trades and singing veterans on the free agent market. his draft record isn't that great. Look at Hurts' contract they are going to have great cap flexibility. Roseman and the Analytics department that Lurie's son runs have way to much power on game plans. Supposedly the coaches meet with Roseman and Lurie on Tuesdays and are questioned about game plans. They play prevent defense and don't blitz based on direction from the analytics team and Roseman. They have a vanilla offense that is all about trying for vertical plays because of analytics. None of these high level coaches are coming to Philly if all of that is true and this boom bust cycle may continue. Roseman and Lurie need to change the organizational philosophy to truly sustain being at the top. They need to give coaches more autonomy in the game plan, bring in more of a football guy to balance the analytics when drafting, and let Howie focus on managing the cap and structuring contracts. They also need to change their philosophy on drafting the back 7 on defense, especially at LB. If you get a blue chipper at LB then you get a difference maker that is a cheap cap hit.

  2. The front office runs the game plan in Philly. It's why Frank Reich didn't return when he could have. No REAL coach wants the GM telling him how to play the game. All the Eagles use is analytics. It worked last yr with a loaded roster and a cheap QB. Now, there is a book on them with a less talented team. Coaching isn't good enough to adjust because they are all inexperienced. They will struggle to hire a coach worth his salt, word is out on how they run it upstairs.

  3. Eagles' front office likes to run things by analytics (too much in my opinion) and they want someone who will follow directives. Belichick will want say in things that he won't get there with Howie. It's not a fit at all.

  4. The Eagles are the only fit for Belichick. I can't see him succeeding in the ATL. It's talented team but they don't have a QB and I can't see BB developing one. That's a job for a high-level OC or former Off HC. The Falcons should grab Vrabel ASAP. He is perfect for them.

  5. As an Eagles fan, I don’t like the idea of hiring Belichick as HC; he’s just such a douche. However, I do like the idea of hiring him as DC, if he would be willing to take the position.

  6. Nick Wright is the rare person to still have a job commenting on sports when he’s constantly wrong. As an aside, he’s also the rare person who’s consistently hard to look at, no matter what look he goes with

  7. Jeffrey wants what New England has if hes available he will do whatever it takes ppl that keep spewing oh they wont hire someone that wants power thats a BS narrative Nick was hired late the eagles didnt have options you think they wouldnt hire a cosch that was better becuase they want control.

  8. Owner Jeff Lurie and GM Howie Roseman are too deeply involved in the operations of this team to hire a powerful coach that would push back for meaningful control. Its hard to argue a change in this philosophy when they have had so much success, 2 Super Bowls (1 win) and constant playoffs for 6 years. Eagles will always hire a yes man coach sink or swim.

  9. Jeff Lurie is from Boston and is enamored with anything about the Patriots dynasty, so I think it's reasonable to assume Philly will consider Belichek and his crew if they are desperate enough to give up control of the HC position
