Just making excuses for Lukaku. At this stage of the game you can't miss 4 easy chances. Lukaku just doesn't have the bottle you have to admit it. He's never been a clutch player in his career.

I think the one where he hit the post was a lot harder than what people think, Drogba said the same. Unfortunately I think the miss rattled him and did affect his game subsequently. At least he got in all the right positions, wasn't like he was hiding. Really the damage was done before, Croatia are one of the best teams in world football when Modric plays, they are very experienced too.
Lukaku is nothing without Antonio Conte. His early years at Everton were just a product of Premier League high lines suiting him. Once at United, he was beginning to flop. His first stint at Inter was because Conte kept him and shape and built the team around him. Then Chelsea and Inter second stint are equal messes.

Enough with this fitness nonsense, any half-decent footballer who is half-fit would score that chance where he basically chested the ball onto the goalkeeper. Lukaku is simply a terrible striker especially when it comes to important matches and he has proved that throughout his career.
belgium and germany is trash, the likes of kdb will end up like hazard if he goes to madrid in his prime. there is a reason why city never won a cl. for real tho. even Asian team like south korea and japan is better than them rn. fyi. i really think that pl and la liga team should avoid bundesliga player. just look at werner,haavertz,pulisic,sancho etc. all expensive flop.

He doesnt work off and when he is in possession, he cant do much also. To say he is unfit is just an excuse. Look at Halland, he hardly touches the ball but he scores with almost every touch.
Roberto Martinez generally is joke as a manager. I'm not surprised Belgium never won anything while he was manager. He should have made KDB the captain, dropped Hazard to an after thought playing at most 10 minutes near the end of games and also making young stars like Youri Tielemans, Leandro Trossard, Amandou Onana and Jeremy Doku regular starters.

Belgium should have sacked Martinez the moment Conte quit Inter and had the latter as their coach. He would have had Lukaku playing like prime R9. He is the only coach to have brought the best out of Lukaku.
Good bye Belgium, you won’t be missed. Belgium is only still exists as a country because of the minerals and wealth that it stole from the Congo during colonization.
