The Bernardo Silva deal is still alive for Barcelona as Manchester City is growing impatient as they need the time and money to sign a replacement, Bernardo dreams of moving to Barcelona and the club are planning to make an offer. Memphis Depay is one step away from joining Juventus, personal terms have been agreed and all that’s left is to part ways with Barcelona, Depay wants to leave for free while the club is trying to salvage a transfer fee, but Juventus have offered to give up on bonuses on the Pjanic deal to make the operation happen. Chelsea has submitted a bid for Aubameyang in the region of the price set by Barcelona and it is now up to the club whether to accept the offer or not. Manchester United has begun negotiations with Barcelona for the transfer of Sergino Dest, the player wants to stay but is being pushed out by the club.

If Aubameyang and Memphis leave, then all it takes is one major injury in the FW/ST/CF department and it's back to fighting for top 4. Then you're going to push guys in other positions, which can lead to other injuries…. fighting for top 4.

You spend 300+ million over the last 2 windows then claim poverty on FDJ? I doubt De Jong will take a pay cut and, frankly, he shouldn’t have to. FDJ should be a core part of this team going forward, with Pedri, Gavi and Fati.
Umtiti would have been out of contract this year had Barca not extended it. Braithwaite has no obligation to take a pay cut and I don’t really see the reason why he gets so much hate. Barca could loan him out and pay the salary difference and that will help the payroll and be a more professional option. They could do the same thing with Umtiti.
The best option for Pique and Busquets and the other deferred salaries that will be due is to structure them as loans with interest and pay it off over the next 5 years (a loan, not a player contract). Then the player could sell the debt or collect the payments for an income stream in their retirement years. There comes a point in time where Laporta has to take some responsibility for the problem. His plan right now is to spend all of the “economic levers” and blame the debts on Bartomeau. Reality is this team was on a tear in the back half of the season and was in a great position without throwing all that money around and they could have built their team around their youngsters and they would be challenging for the CL by 2023/24. That would have freed the funds for retiring the obscene debt load this club has and would put them in a great position for long term prosperity. Instead this club will be in the same position by 2025 except there will be no more payday loans left to bail them out.
They should have kept Luk De Jong for depth.
