Arsenal goals against Fulham came on the transition, against teams that sit team and have a good defensive block you need to play quick transition football so that these teams cannot set up their low block in time
Guy has a good point but rice is so Important defensively and he can also cause problems going forward so unless someone can match him central defensively, I think it’s dangerous putting him up the pitch. Idk?
Rice has not made tbis team better so far. He is too inconsistent. He will play 2 good games, and rhen disappear.

Rice has negative 100 weight balance or body shift. He runs with his chest puffed up like he's a English player from 1940s before Pele made his debut. There has to be a to lower the body to make sudden turns or run with the ball, all he can do is run in a straight line with chest puffed up. He also has no real vision/creativity, can't pass or read the tempo.

Arsenal's midfield would have been close to perfect with Rice, Beans and Odegard.

For me jorginho is one of the most creative midfielders currently playing at his best he can control the pace of the game

Arsenal play a 4-2-3-1 with Rice as the left side of the 2. I suggest they would be better as a 4-1-2-3 with Rice in front of the back 4, allowing the LB and RB to go forward.
Rice will be better as a box to box with a creative deep lying midfielder behind him, Partey is that player but in the absence of Partey Arsenal has Georginho ahead of the rest to play that role though he may not be as physical and quick as Partey but he is definitely the better option than Havertz Rice partnership, Georginho is a natural deep lying playmaker .

Last season Arsenal had Partey, Xhaka and Odegaard. They have replaced Rice with Partey as the #6 which is fine but they replaced Xhaka with Havertz or Trossard, that leaves their midfield open.
I agree. I didn't think arsenal would be so one dimensional. But I think it comes down to key injuries like Partey and Timbers. Partey can be that guy that allows Rice to push up but he's been struggling the last year to even play regularly. I think arsenal will be fine once their players find their best form.
Arsenal needs to just play, get the ball, see the runners, play the ball. Don't play for the reels. Drags and flicks are good but the longer a player has the ball the more time opposition players have a chance to get back to formation. It's not that hard.
Id like to see jorginho and Odegaard with rice behind them.
Cant understand why arsenal paid 105mill for Rice he is not even technical like Partey,Rodri jorghinio etc he is a pure destroyer and they are 10 a penny, i bet arteta thought he had more in his locker , truth be told he along with havertz has made the midfield worse neither can pass/create so odegaard has to collect the ball from deep which is why we are very slow in transition

Declan would fit the box to box midfielder role, however, there is no DM that is as secure in front of the defense as he is and Partey isn’t available unfortunately.

Arteta is part of the process. Sooner he is replaced, the better Arsenal moving towards winning the league . All Arsenal supporters reading this comment, knows that our dream midfield for this season is Partey #6, Rice #8, and Odegaard #10. Our goalkeeper is supposed to be Ramsdele, and our defense last season remains the same .The front three remains the same . What Arteta did ,he changed goalkeeper who knows the back four very well, doing fantastic saves,weekend to weekend, to a new goalkeeper who don't know the back four well. He changed the midfield that was doing so well last season . Now that midfield is no more,that is part of the problem right now. we are struggling to open up low block teams and our strikers, but don't use to this new midfield . If Arteta process was really starting to make progress last year, he should not have made so many changes. We are not playing free flow football like last season because we don't have the players to do that due to many changes to the squad. Arteta is the biggest problem, right now .

Yesterday we we're 1:0 up in 5 minutes. Then Arteta told them to sit back. That's not Arsenal .We should have continued playing the same way we played before we scored. It's really unacceptable. I hope Partey is not playing nations cup, because Rice can't do it alone in that midfield. If i am the manager of Arsenal, Havertz should be playing #9, Jesus #11, so that Martinelli will come back to his senses, and #7 Saka. I will give a chance to the academy u23 left back to play.
