Saeid is a product of Malavan’s youth football academy, which is from the Gilan Province of Iran. His impressive performances for Iran’s U-16 national team (in both the 2012 U-16 Asian Championship and the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup), helped jump start his football career at a very young. He made his Persian Gulf Pro League debut for Malavan F.C. at the age of 16. He was later picked up by Atlético Madrid’s youth system, spending a year in Spain before signing with FC Rostov in Russia.
Saeid started his senior national football team career at the age of 19, replacing the retired Javad Nekounam (in 2015) as Iran’s new #6 in central midfield. He is the student of former Team Melli head coach Carlos Queiroz (2015-2019).
Ezatolahi has appeared in one FIFA World Cup (2018), with 30 appearances and 1 goal scored for Iran. He has yet to appear at the Asian Cup, missing the 2019 Asian Cup due to an injury. Besides Malavan FC and FC Rostov, Saeid has also played for Anzhi Makhachkala, Amkar Perm, Reading FC as well as K.A.S Eupen.
Saeid recently signed with Danish Superliga club Vejle Boldklub for the 2020-21 season.
