Kone has a huge ceiling..
I think a move to a big club like Sheffield United would be phenomenal for him in and his development in my opinion. Even if he is used as a sub for them he's incredibly young…
I think the benefits of a move like this outweigh the negatives, however he is still very capable of growing in the MLS and could attract even bigger clubs should he remain with the Impact…Good problems to have that's for sure

If Ismaël Koné demonstrates his quality in Qatar (its a showcase for lesser known players…scouts from all teams around the world are looking and taking notes) then he might do better than Sheffield United. I like that he stays with Montreal for the MLS playoffs.
I think Kone will benefit from staying in the mls longer. Look at Davies, he was linked to Man U and didn’t go a year later he was sold for 10 million more then what he was supposed to be sold for the year before. Plus look how good Davies turned out.
His contract is ending soon & the fee will be why both club & player are happy to wait. Koné can command higher wages in January & without a fee Utd will be happy to incentivise him – maybe offer a golden handshake & promotion bonus. I love what I’ve seen of him, but he was never going to be a direct replacement for Berge. I hope they’re playing alongside each other in early January anyway. Growing into a premier league team player through a promotion will be ideal for all parties.

Not sure if you’re aware, but Fabrizio also reported United will go back for Kone in January. It’s also important to mention Sheffield United are favourites to be promoted.
