7.5m for 6 months loan does not seem like good value, however that is a drop in the ocean these days, we do need a DM badly. England international is not a mark of honor any longer with Southgate in charge, by that logic we should get Henderson 😂.

We need a 6 while I don’t think Phillips is the answer, it gives him a chance to prove himself and we can use the funds to get a striker and right wing

Were it me I like the idea of a Philips loan, with an option to buy in the summer if it works out. January permanent signings for me involve 2 players, because they’ll be expensive. Thomas Kaminsky from Luton & Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan. I’d sell Dubravka, Hayden & Burn in January also.
If we sign him can get him in a few pre season games on the 2 week break in January

Creativity is required. Then a way to sure up the team without the ball. Miggy needs a taxi to anywhere except st James's park. Trippier needs to book his ideas up, burn needs to be used sparingly, livramento needs a permanent place in the team, longstaff needs to create, score or help the defence because he is doing none of the 3. Isak and wilson need players to find them in the right areas to be useful and Gordon must improve his final ball or shot. Howe needs to start again, bsck to basics because his job is in serious jeopardy.
It's good for football to see two plastic clubs like Chelsea and Newcastle struggling. Ruining the game with the spend, spend, spend mentality.
Not one midfielder is holding. Therefore if Philips is doing that role then its a big improvement
I am not sure about him to be honest. He is a bit like Gordon last January – no confidence, not in form, no game time. Newcastle doesn't have the time to allow him to develop, we need immediate results not next season. But who knows, maybe it can work out.
Phillips could be a exciting player to get. It depends on how hungry he is.
