  1. Catchers talk a lot of behind the plate crap so a-lot that do have it coming, just takes the right man for the job. Not always the case but id imagine in a long season players get tired of the smack talk and plow right on through.

  2. If most of these hits happened in the NFL, the player would be ejected for targeting.

You can't be allowed to go full sprint and take a head shot on another player who's standing still

  3. Johnny Estrada getting obliterated by Darrin Erstad. Erstad handled it very poorly. Went in with his elbow to the face while diving at Estrada's upper body, sprung up and stomped on the plate, with Estrada's lifeless looking corpse on the ground. The Braves took exception. Rightfully so. This likely ruined Estrada's career. One of few times I saw Bobby Cox get mad at a player.

  4. Not even one Yadier Molina catch and collision? Really? I was at a fathers day game where Yadi was taken out at home, flat on his back, had to be taken off the field in a strecher…NEVER dropped the ball, kept his arm raised the entire time. He had many like that.

  5. Football fans like me like to say, baseball isn’t a sport, baseball’s boring and stuff like that, but it’s all fun and games as these guys are top tier athletes and it’s like a car accident in every collision

  6. Wow the ability to catch n hold the ball from these collisions are insane. U know a 200lbs FAST athletic professional athlete is running full speed at you and u need to keep concentration to catch, hold, and take that impact. I miss these days but I do see why they stopped it…

  7. Man it's crazy how the posey play led to a complete change of the game. Started with Pete Rose all star but that sealed it. To be fair all sports have made concussion or injury rules now

  8. 1:21 This particular collision is where Buster Posey broke a fibula & tore 2 ligaments in his ankle. Resulting in season-ending surgery. In response to this, the MLB made rule changes to help eliminate Home Plate collisions. Which would be known as the "Buster Posey Rule".

Losing Buster to this incident had major repercussions for the Giants that Season (2011) because he was a major part of their roster. When he came back for the 2012 Season, he would become an integral part of the Giant's run for the championship.

  9. Stupid suggestions that auto play. I only seen 2 cheap hits. That elbow to the face, and that Morgan guy. He wanted to hurt the catcher but could have slide and made the run. What a waste.

  10. This comes with the territory if you play catcher. Same with slides into second or SS. It's part of the game. It's what makes baseball gritty and ballsy. Shame they keep pussifying the game.
