My thoughts not just this game but over the past month:
Richi is contributing. He's not dead weight anymore. It doesn't feel like 10v11 anymore. Was today his best game? No. But he's having big moments and having an impact. People will say the goal was a tap in but he was there making the run with a nice 1st time finish. Son also got a bit too much stick I think. Neither had the best matches but they made match winning contributions. If you had told me Richi would have 5 goals 3 assists and Son would be in the golden boot race at this point of the season, after that horrific last season and the team has a +13 goal difference after a month and half of a depleted defence well I'd have told you to stop smoking whatever it is you're smoking.
I hate to flog a dead horse but how many have Spurs conceded when Dier is brought on as a sub? I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought -"Well, there goes the clean sheet" Todibo, ANYONE please come in Jan.
I have to respect Emerson-he's played LB/CB and hardly his preferred position and he's done a passable job. Not world class, not perfect and there's been mistakes but it has been adequate ie not an absolute disaster/competent. Same with Davies.
Brennan Johnson-it's such a luxury to have gamebreaking speed on the flanks. Having come in so late in the window you have to remember he's 1-2 months behind the team. But I'm excited.
While Ange is doing such a great job, Dyche has to be MOTY contention if he keeps this up. Everton appears to be an absolute disaster off the field but he and his players are up for it and thriving.
Spurs looked very tired from around the 30 minute mark. Losing Romero hurt us along with the loss of Udogie and Bissouma. We need VDV, Madders, Bentancur back asap. We also need a CB, Mid and Wing in the Jan transfer.
Some tired legs out there and these injuries / suspensions really hurting us . Smash ‘n grab maybe but it’s all about the points . Look at the times we’ve played well and ended up with nothing . Richy must be the on form striker in the premier league right now, never thought I’d say that 😂 fair play to him . Maybe we could get Skipp a Pubic bone op too 🤷🏻♀️❓. If we didn’t play well but still won, it’s just what that lot deserve. The league and the FA should have pulled their finger out and docked them their 10 points 9-10 months ago, which would have rightly seen them get relegated. Dyche the dinosaur and his tactics from the dark ages don’t deserve PL football and PL finances. 3rd fewest passes played in the league whilst having the highest amount of long balls? Absolutely shameful. This is 2023 not 1990, just running around a lot and hoofing the ball the few times you actually get hold of it shouldn’t be a tactic.
That scouse trash losing is a victory for football.
