Bayern Munich will be active in the transfer market this winter. Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel revealed plans to bring in two new players.
The Bavarian giants are still in the Bundesliga and Champions League competition. Bayern are four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen with one game remaining, and have reached the last 16 in Europe.
However, Bayern is overshadowed by a thin squad due to a storm of injuries. Quoted from Transfermarkt, eight players were injured, including Noussair Mazroui, Bouna Sarr, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.
Currently, Bayern Munich is quite widely linked with Fulham defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha. Bayern may also target forward players to support Harry Kane.
Tuchel hopes to get at least one versatile player in January. The reason is, shopping for players in the middle of the season is more difficult.
“We are working on recruiting new players. We will hope to improve the squad in the winter,” said Tuchel, quoted from a tweet by journalist Fabrizio Romano in X.
“It won’t be easy because the January transfer window is always more difficult than the summer. However, at the same time we will believe in the quality we have,” continued the former coach of Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
“Maybe we will need two new players, or if there are players who can operate in various positions then one person will be enough if we don’t have many injuries. We know why it is difficult to get players in January. We will need patience and optimism,” Tuchel add.
