Luton captain Tom Lockyer remained in hospital undergoing tests and scans on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Saturday’s abandoned match at Bournemouth.

Following Lockyer’s collapse at the Vitality Stadium that halted play in the second half of the Premier League contest, the Hatters had confirmed the 29-year-old was “responsive” before being taken to hospital and in a “stable” condition.

An update from the club on Sunday read: “Tom is still undergoing tests and scans, and is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined.

Jay Bothroyd discussed the situation and talked about his own journey after he suffered a similar incident in 2021 whilst training.

  1. It's been a problem that has been happening in sport for a very very long time. The reason seeing more of them in football is the increase in number of games & pace but also just visibility of it with improve access to sports media ppl are more aware of it

  2. He might as well just retire since it's his second collapse within 7 months. He's had his premier league experience so he can finish his career before another accident

  3. Best wishes bro ….but not to sound like a looney……but…..is anyone else noticing this is happening more often? Like since 2020/2021? Anyone? No just me then😮
