Luton captain Tom Lockyer remained in hospital undergoing tests and scans on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Saturday’s abandoned match at Bournemouth.
Following Lockyer’s collapse at the Vitality Stadium that halted play in the second half of the Premier League contest, the Hatters had confirmed the 29-year-old was “responsive” before being taken to hospital and in a “stable” condition.
An update from the club on Sunday read: “Tom is still undergoing tests and scans, and is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined.
Jay Bothroyd discussed the situation and talked about his own journey after he suffered a similar incident in 2021 whilst training.

Everyone wishes him well. We often forget the physical stress footballers go through in a game…unless you are Mesut Ozil. Lazy brat.
Wishing him well on his recovery but surely that’s his career done after two incidents in a span of 6 months.
Hope he can live a full and healthy life with his family but surely he needs to retire

I hate this presenter so much. How does he work at Sky Sports is beyond me. Get someone who speaks faster and is more energetic ffs
I like both of you Players are more important than a football. God bless all the best to the skipper ❤
Vaxxed. Oh well at least he didn't get COVID
Wishing a healthy recovery 🙏
Life doesn't always give us a warning when it's our time to check out, he's had two now, go be with your family and live a long life.
It's been a problem that has been happening in sport for a very very long time. The reason seeing more of them in football is the increase in number of games & pace but also just visibility of it with improve access to sports media ppl are more aware of it
Incredibly sad best wishes too lockyer but i think on medical grounds this will be it for him life is far more precious than football ❤
The 💉 doesn't forget
He might as well just retire since it's his second collapse within 7 months. He's had his premier league experience so he can finish his career before another accident
As a Man United fan, I hope Lockyer gets well very soon!
He cheated death twice, retire my friend and enjoy life.
Best wishes bro ….but not to sound like a looney……but…..is anyone else noticing this is happening more often? Like since 2020/2021? Anyone? No just me then😮
Christian Eriksen had the same problem
Tom, Wishing you a speedy and full recovery. Best wishes and thoughts to all your family. Essex Owl
