💯 re: Alvarez. Personally I would like to see us play with 2x No.6 replacing Soucek (more technically proficient and press resistant) and push JWP forward and allow us to operate more dynamically.
This would also allow for injuries
Not to be a wet blanket but Freiburg didn't offer much.
Geo have you picked a winner for the wolves tickets yet- I want too take my nephew- if you have I will have too get some tickets elsewhere thanks mate
They were scared of us!!
For the first time im actually buzzing …Credit where credit is due Nice one Moyes!
Now play the same tactics v Wolves Pleeeeeese
Ps enjoyed that..
Gonzo is moonlighting on another job 😅?
We controlled the game! 🎉🎉😂
Flynn Downes has become a far better player since he hasnt been playing for West Ham. We could well be disappointed if he were to return!
We need to go all out for the cup we ent no mugs in europe
Liking the (possible) new series. Having the to and fro of the conversation/opinions is a nice change to the usual monologue videos (although I still enjoy them too). Keep it coming
Happy fabianski staying.
I don’t think we need competition for Alvarez per se and rather someone who can offer him respite. I’d like us to target a class player towards the end of his career (Milner esque).
Geo you have picked up some trolls recently. Proves you must be popular all famous people have a following to follow trolls 😂
I think kehrer could play in Alvarez’s position but moyes doesn’t have the imagination to try it
Adrian is still stealing a living at Liverpool ! Kehrer plays right back for Germany. Is Coufal better than him at RB?
Just read that sunderland are in discussions with Will Still
Fabianski has been an underrated servant to the club he’s brought stability in GK for almost 7 years now and won a HOTY
There is someone on the bench who is a direct replacement for Alvarez but Moyes refuses to use Coventry.
JWP sitting deep killing us good to see him abit forward, soucek droppable now
two ball playing defenders going forward last night made a massive difference.
Fabianski for another season??!! What??! Let him go for God’s sake!! Hopefully whoever replaces moyes will have more sense than to keep him in the squad! What a deflating and uninspiring thing for Anang to endure that this static, archaic goalkeeper would still be playing! His reactions are generally slow, he can’t kick straight, never comes for the ball, and has slow distribution too!
If not Kehrer, can Mavropanos slot in DM?
Funnily enough I mentioned to my son last night that we're gonna have to think about a new GK next summer as well as the outfield positions. Kicks that down the road for another year I guess
Been saying since his first proper game, he is our best signing from the summer and crucial to our tactics. Absolutely need another perhaps younger Paduwan to Alvarez to develop into that role and perhaps replace Alvarez. Someone like Mannsverk…
💕👍 🙋♀️ 🇫🇷
Do the new series! Always nice to see Charlie on here – All 3 of you have valuable contributions to make but I’m sure I heard Charlie say this is his bed time?! 😂⚒️
Morning Gents,
Great show enjoyed the dialog between you both fingers crossed for more in the future.
COYI
We do need backup to Alvarez but you’re not going to get one who’s just as good in his role. Liverpool didn’t have a stand in for Fabinho when he was at the top of his game, City don’t cope when they don’t have Rodri. They’re few and far between and unless we are going to drop Soucek or Ward Prowse we won’t get one who’s as good. The Kehrer as back up CDM is a shout I’d like to see explored.
I still really rate Fab, there isn’t a lot in it between him & Areola & he had to play Areola before he put in a transfer request & we get left with a older keeper & no back up.
Last night's performance reminded me of the Arsenal game (3-0) ⚒️
What do you think about the 2 centre backs steaming forward last night
Fab is like a fine Polish wine…
Fab is too slow and old. We need to look for back up keepet for next season.
Worth the watch, just for Charlie's input 7:00 – 8:00. More please. 'Moyes In' btw. More Charlie please.
Good performance in the 1st half.Much better passing by all.Very ordinary 2nd half let's be honest. Subs were all 12 minutes late.we didn't rotate. That's going to be bite us back.
There is a lot of difference between a 2-0 and 5-0 Geo. Everyone is talking about Fulham and you have talked a lot about Frieburgs two 5-0 wins. They are statement wins.
Moyes never goes for it. Ultimate confidence booster etc.
You won't get 2 players the same as Alvarez no one at his level will sit on the bench. Downes would have been the best replacement for those 20 minutes of games in the cup
Was there, nice performance. We have completely proficient players throughout. With a bit of spice and zip from Paq and Jarred. And Kudus…wow…he goes for it…if we had another like him!
Do not get carried away we won't get that time and space against wolves
Hello, Geo! Question: Do you think Conor Gallagher would be a good option re possible Alvarez absences since he is good at tackling, pressing, energetic, etc.? There's a lot of talk again about him possibly leaving Chelsea. We tried getting him last time and it seems like some players might be sold from West Ham in January to open more space. What do you think re CG?
By the way, I have a friend from Scotland over here in the USA and you remind me a lot of him in terms of appearance, etc. (smile) I enjoy your shows. Keep up the good work!!
Agree we need proper cover for Alvarez in cdm role?As Moyes won’t pick Scarles for the bench who could provide cover for Emerson at Left back over Cresswell.
So in January my wish list would be a pair of Full backs left and right and a CDM,icing on the cake would be a striker.Although the board won’t trust Moyes with another striker care of Haller and Scamacca.
Clear out the dead wood, never commanded his area, overrated, can't believe him and Cresswell are still there and Lanzini ain't FFS!
Freiberg were awful, frankly. They offered no real fight. They were the worst team I have seen this season.
I was v surprised.
Sheff Utd were far better.
HOWEVER, that was the best I have seen West Ham play this season too.
WHU were excellent. There didn't seem to be any real fatigue, and the play was good to watch and we thoroughly deserved our win.
We should have won by far more.
Freiberg somehow stifled us in the 2nd half. Felt for Kudus in the 2nd half, often waiting fruitlessly for the ball to come his side.
What a fantastic respite from the dirge football we've been fed for most of the season.
Paqueta was fantastic, but as usual, gave away a critical ball that Fabianski had to make a smart save to foil.
Kudus was absolutely brilliant.
Bowen was feeding off scraps, but toiled away v well.
All the team were good.
No obligatory horror mistake(s) from Aguerd. Indeed, he was always capable of those defence splitting passes.
The sad note was that Mubama's touch wasn't v good unfortunately.
Ditto Cornet, who, however, was only given 4 or 5 mins to impress. So not fair to judge. He was v good v Olympiakos for his brief appearance.
Nice to see Kehrer get some mins.
Unfortunately, I suspect we were only able to play great football because the opposition was so (unexpectedly) weak, which is a shame.
I would love nothing better than to be proved wrong v Wolves on Sunday
I’m not sure we can get good enough competition for Alvarez. Our very best players are gonna be huge misses when they are out. That just football. I can understand why the situation is that when he’s out we switch the way we play. I think that’s an easier and more realistic solution than having a good enough DM just sitting on the bench.
I think the problem is what we switch to isn’t quite working.
Next day quick interactive chat & rabbit holes – what's not to love about that 👍
My thoughts on recent matches/performances is…..the mystery sickness bug probably played a lot more significant role in effecting individuals & entire team after returning from international break.
Charlie…. just because Fabianski is now our cup keeper and Ariola is number 1for league games………as far as most things…and supposed Ariola better at distribution…which doesnt save goals from going in the net…..Fabianski…hasnt done anything wrong…and actually the safer and most experienced keeper…he s still a terrific keeper….still my number 1…but happy for Ariola to get a go…atm….
Enjoying this new series. Keep it up and always love hammers chat content
How about a video with a saints fan on how downes is doing? I really like him as a player and hope he has opportunity to be a part of the team next season
Good video guys, always good to see Charlie from time to time!
A little bit, the moment Alvarez left the other team managed to attack easily. As a Mexican I feel proud how much Alvarez has affected the team positively.
