Not only did Neuer go to Bayern after saying he never would, he left on a free. If he’d have netted Schalke a nice fee then it wouldn’t have been quite so heartbreaking. Losing world class talent to big clubs is the norm at Schalke but losing them to Bayern for free is unforgivable.
