ESPN FC’s Sid Lowe, Steve Nicol and Alejandro Moreno assess Barcelona’s move for Martin Braithwaite from Leganes outside the transfer window through a La Liga rule that allows clubs to apply to make new signings if a player is ruled out for more than five months. Lowe explains why the late move for Braithwaite to Barca will signal for change in the rules next season, while the rest of the crew feel it was wrong of the La Liga giants to pick on little guy Leganes.

  1. I hope leganes get relegated now for the 18m that they recieved! Hope it was worth it. Barcelona have always been cry babies! If Barcelona had a face it would be Sergio bouquets… straight trash. Straight puss

  2. Am I only one who thinks that Leganes should be happy with this situation as that dude is not worth anywhere near 18 M Euros and with that kind of money next season they could buy few decent and younger players from countries like Denmark, Norway or Sweden and really improve their squad.

  3. Stop trying to create fire where there is none. Let that fella get paid. He had a release clause and it was met. Old heads always in young fellas pockets. Get yo money Braith, it won't be there forever

  4. Don't forget that other La Liga clubs have used this rule multiple times too. And when they bought a player from another club, the club they bought it from couldn't buy a replacement either. Didn't see anyone cry then. Criticize the rule, not Barcelona.

  5. Thank god we gonna get ride of barteumeo and his gang for good , hr destroyed the team wasted Messi s best years by stupid signings and spending money of anonymos players and bad decisions like dembele , bring back Laporta the true hero of barcelona and u ll see a board tht acfually cares abiut football not money nd economics

  6. This is the most bs thing i have ever saw….Leganes sold their player by a clause they signed a contract about…Barcelona got a player injured that is diffrent Leganes got their player sold because of a clause they signed on.Not barca fault not laliga's fault. And braithwaite is a very good striker and i think he will do great in barca colors

  7. Right, so the academy players are just not good enough to play for the senior team, and at a club like Barcelona. Baffling. I am proud of Arsenal, Saka, Nketiah, Willock, Reis Nelson and a few other prospects. Best example of how young players should be developed and promoted to the first team.

  8. Bad theses guys r talking about this rule as if it's a new one and crazy 2 think a team gonna hurt his player on purpose ya analyses r always nonsense when ya talk about Braca

  10. I'm barca fan and think that braithwaite is good but I still think it's unfair, shame at barca for not use La masia players instead. I think barca will get a karma and not win anything this season

  12. Coming from one, this seems like a really American rule lmao. This is a terrible idea for this reason. I didn’t check before posting if they did, but what good would 18 million euros do for Leganes if they got relegated?? They would most certainly lose more players because of going down as well.. feels bad man.
