17 days ago Kawasaki Frontale secured the J1 League title faster than any J1 side since the league adopted a 34-game schedule back in 2005.
Since then, they have failed to win either of their two games, with a 2-2 draw with Shimizu S-Pulse and now today’s 1-1 draw with Sagan Tosu.
In the 57th minute, Kawasaki opened the scoring after a sublime delivery from Yasuto Wakizaka found the head of centre back Shogo Taniguchi, who thumped in a header inside the six-yard box.
The game looked over and done. However, Sagan Tosu fought back with another fantastic assist of their own, as Riki Harakawa found Renzo López lurking in the box, who converted another great header to finish the game 1-1.
Check out the highlights from the game above.
