I was quite impressed with Foden too, and the fact that his performance was not highlighted in that game is even further proof that he has matured. That was a level that if we get consistently would make him a solid player on that side. Knowing he can sometimes go even higher.
Phil was impeccable, the lad really had Cucurella on strings and was probably unlucky not to score when he cut in on his left Mahrez style
I have a lot of respect for you, but stop meat riding Palmer yes he’s been good at chelsea but he was NEVER that good at city, he only showed glimpse of what can do and btw mama just scoring penalties..Pep wanted to give him a chance and he said no GET OVER IT!
I like foden, but he is a player who has a good game today bad game next, hope he keep up the good form
One Stop playing Dias on the right it doesn't work it hasn't worked all season him and Walker together doesn't work
Nunes needs to be given a chance Alvarez was completely anonymous plus his corners are awful
In big game we will have to play with midfielder instead of Alvarez; I honestly believed we would've won had Pep substitute Alvarez with Kovacic in second half. Because we couldn't control the midfield and Chelsea was getting too comfortable in there.
bcoz we're livin in PHiLiP wALTER era
Thanks a bunch Steven! The 5 things we learned show with you is my favorite City match review. Thanks for delivering great content 👍🏾
Was Ake injured?? Where does Nunes fit in I see him much more forward thinking than a outright midfielder
I think Pep is preparing Foden for the Lionel Messi role. That was the play all along maybe. Interestingly, probably Phil is the only one who can actually emulate him at least some of his game.
Ake has to be brought back in at left back.
Cole wanted to go – simple as – Pep said before he was even sold in a presser "IDK not sure he wants to stay." He is decent player who has potential but I am not dropping Foden RW for Cole Palmer anyway.
Let me say that im proud of city for showing that we can go head to head with the best of them like we forget that Chelsea is one of those teams. Shows that if dont control a game we still can compete Lets. be real this wasnt city vs chelsea this city vs city… sterling and palmer had there points to prove which they did is not about regrets is bout moving forward .
There’s a lot to be said for De Bruynes creativity and vision, but I think we miss his impact on the team in terms of balance. For example, having Rodri protecting the back 4 whilst also being competent defensively. Without him, we are forcing the ball more and forcing Alvarez to defend.
With Liverpool. I don't think we need Composure. Let them have the ball at times. Win the ball back and give Doku Foden , Bernardo, Haaland, or Alvarez
I f*&^%ing love "5 Things We Learned"….
Phil Foden probably been our best player
this season so far!! He's really growing and
maturing as a player. I never doubt him at all
Look at his age and what he has achieve!
Great video mate. Always enjoy the 5 things learnt
segment
Cole Palmer wasn’t Manchester City material
GET OVER IT!!!
We need john stones in midfield bernado is too weak and needs to play in the wing. I genuinely believe we won last seasons clash with bayern coz he managed to bully bayerns strong midfield.
As I said on another channel. Before the game, yes, before the game I called this out. I said that Kovacic should have been in the middle with Rodri instead of Alvarez given that Chelsea's strength appears to be in midfield. So, before you mourn the loss of Gundogan, give Kovacic a chance by actually playing him!
i also said that Grealish should have started instead of Doku. Why? Because we would retain the ball better in the early energetic stages and a fresh Doku against a tiring Reece James would be better.
Again, I made these points BEFORE the match, not after. Pep's got it wrong for once I said. And the rest is history…
5 top players left and some City fans are going over the top with fears that they've not been adequately replaced? Doku? Nunes? Gvardiol? Kovacic?? Of course they couldn't be replaced immediately like magic. Usually new players take at least a season to integrate fully into Pep's system so expect more next season. Also KDB is THE big, huge loss for me and I also was terribly saddened at Palmers loss for he was City through and through. He will shine and become a TOP STAR whether it be Chelsea? Newcastle? Wherever. Aymeric Laporte, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo and Cole Palmer
On Palmer, just a gentle reminder about Sancho. It's not about skills etc but also character and mentality. Palmer played well for a few games in Chelsea shirt, we should take a step back and see how he progress in years to come. I trust the way City's make decision, there must be reasons for selling him, much like an excellent player like Cancelo. We should just move on.
Akanji was my City MOTM- top player.
yeah i watched that domination and the first thing I thought was also "wow foden so mature" 🤣
