The USMNT has struggled to get a signature win, as stated by Jesse Marsch himself, so what is missing?
Is it a mentality issue? Is it Gregg Berhalter? Are the USMNT players the problem?
Let’s discuss.

GGG needs to go like now
Cindy Parlow Cone is the problem. Even if Berhalter is not the coach, she’d hire someone else like Berhalter.
Gerson Perez seems like a Cool dude
the usmnt isnt so good tbh
The US also gets few chances to win big signature games given the region were in
Greg takes 85% of the blame. The only credit I give to him is getting commitments from dual nats. The system he has us running, if you even want to call it a system, is a joke, and for me, the number 1 thing will always be, game management. The coaches ability to provide instruction too turn around the performance of the team, and or being able to manage a game you are already winning too see it out, and substitutions. Greg may be a good guy, he may even somehow motivate these players, but he continues to fail when it comes to game time. Only recently when he’s started picking out better rosters has his subs improved, imo.
Thanks for the quality content as usual tac
I want to know if GGG is the guy and if not who? I don't think he is. And i think he's the one holding te team back ,he's the absolute problem in my opinion. Yess he's the weak link. Once again in my opinion hoping to be proven wrong.
69th like…. Suck it….
Cindy Parlowe-Cone and JT Batson are the cancerous core of USSF
100% Tact's fault!
Both interim coaches were better. Clearly better. Bring back BJ!
If tac gets 1k likes in this video l, i will release a corn video of tactical manager and GGG. You cant fool me Tac.
You overestimate pulisic reyna and these players ability in global stage. These players are average.
National team coaching is different than club team coaching. A national coach adjusts the tactics to fit the personnel, a club coach adjusts the personnel to fit the desired tactics. Greg behaves like a club coach.
The real problem is USSF. We all know GGG and the players is part of the problem but let’s not forget who brought back GGG. The players gotta take some blame as well but IMO USSF have been the issue for many things not only just the national team for a long time.
Berhalter is a low level coach, and he'll always give low level results. It's no stretch to imagine the U.S going out of the 2026 WC after getting out of the group stage and losing the next game. That's what GGG offers. That's real.
I agree.. You are an idiot. But you're our idiot 💙💚💛
GB should never have been let back in the building
Yes
Heard a laugh at 0:25 lol
This team is currently operating close to it's ceiling. I know people don't want to hear that, but it's a talent issue. We aren't beating the Argentina's and Brazil's of the world, no matter who is manager. There isn't some secret tactic that makes us great. We just don't have the horses. We have Pulisic and McKennie and then a bunch of JAGs.
Agency capture of the US Soccer Federation by our racketeering domestic league diminishes and debilitates the national team. #MLSagenda #BerhalterOut
We need more verticality and horizontality
22:41 Here's my thing, I do like soccer as a sport but I love the traditional sports more. Soccer is late to the game and developed in other countries when there was significant competition for athletes. Now soccer is trying to break into a world where the American sports culture is significantly different than the rest of the world. I want our US team to be the best it can be, but to do that you have to find a way to convince the best athletes to become skilled players. Basketball does that, football does that, Baseball in a lot of ways does that. But soccer doesn't, because you can put the best athlete at the top and their skill doesn't matter. Maybe that's a bad take, but I think to fix that problem you need to find a way to convince kids that their skill matters.
No.
The ceiling of an national team is defined by its performance of its individual players at the club level. The belief that we are performing below our level of talent was based on expectations formed when these players were young and with big programs and were hyped to have glorious futures in Europe. But none of our players have performed consistently and at a high level or often at any level at all in Europe since then. The entire roster is flopping compared to the hype and expectations put on them, and it's just lots easier to say, "I wasn't wrong. I didn't let myself get taken in by the hype. We are as good as anyone in the world. If only I was the coach we'd beat everyone."
List any of the players you want and go back a few years and listen to what the youtube channels were saying about them and how Berhalter was the problem.
Matthew Hoppe for example. Remember when he was going to be the next big thing after 5 goals in Bundesliga? Where is he now? Where is your boostering and bunkering for him now? Where are you complaints that Berhalter is being totally unfair to him now?
Remember when everyone was saying how Chris Richards was going to be Bayern Munich's CB of the future? Do you remember how many times we were told how much faith Bayern had in him? Then he went to Crystal Palace where he now can't get off the bench.
Remember Gio Reyna? He was hyped as the best young player in the world. He was going to be the next big thing. Well, he can't get off the bench for Dortmund. His player valuation has slipped from top 5 in his age group and top 25 in his position to 24th in his age group. And if he doesn't start playing soon, it will go lower. And this isn't just something happening with Gio. The roster has been shedding transfer market value for years, and not because they are underperforming for Berhalter but because they are underperforming for their club.
What about Brendan Aaronson the "Medford Messi"? How many situations has he flopped out of now?
Remember when Tim Weah was going to play for PSV? How many situations has he flopped out of now? He's not even considered a prospect at winger anymore.
Or remember Sergino Dest? Sure, he's playing for PSG now and looks OK, but at one time we were being told he was a top 5 fullback in the world and the future of Barca. He's crashed down several levels from that sort of hype.
Tyler Adams? Josh Sergent? Neither can get their career actually going. The number of injury prone players we have is astounding but not unexpected given the relatively small relatively unathletic player pool.
The less said about the state of the GK pool the better.
We've got a few players that are doing OK. McKinney is doing OK for Juventus. Pulsic is doing OK for AC Milan when he can stay healthy, but he's gone from being a 60 million dollar player to a 25 million dollar player. Robinson at Fulham might be the most in form player we have right now, as Tim Ream is finally starting to show his age after last year's entirely unexpected career year.
We have some talent, but it's not the talent level of a top 10 program in the world so expecting any coach to make this squad look top 10 is ridiculous. Add up the starters we have in the big 5 every week. Add up the minutes played we have in the big 5 every week. Add up the wins we earn in the big 5 every week. Add up the goals scored. You'll find that we rank something like 25th or 26th in the world in those categories, and that we need 3 or 5 times as many players to match top programs. We don't have players ranked in the top 25 in their position, much less any that are in the top 5. You want to be a top 10 program you need a whole roster of players who are stars, who are captains, who are the best player on their team, who are ranked in the top 25 in their position in the world. We don't have that. We just don't.
Wish Hugo Perez were the coach. It's a pipe dream, but one can wish
I am not from us so i don't really know much about usmnt
But you all have to answer yourself next question "which teams are much better, better, equal or worse than the us only speaking about the players"
So the players not finishing chances and turning the ball over in bad areas of the field, and through no fault of the opposition, is Gregs fault too? Greg aint perfect by any means but its on both the players and the coach, but for a generation that's been proppedup as our best ever, it seems trivial to me that so much seems to be pinned on Greg. I tend to lay more blame on the players as they are actually playing
Tact do an MLS cup watch along
The problem is 1 ussf for accepting mediocrity. 2 the coach as he can motivate, plan, lead and players.
Yes. Most coaches would have been fired long ago for dismal results.
The women went and got the best women's coach in the world. Need I say more?
Gerson for coach 2024
The short answer is yes, is it the correct answer though? – Yes
Don't fool yourself, manager & and team are "merde", that's why you get the product that you get!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Our players might not be the best, but a good manager could take them further than they are now.
Yes. Full stop. 🤭
I am about halfway through this interview, and I have to say it is absolutely fantastic. Gerson is tremendously insightful and provides a perspective you just don't hear from the current pundits and players with their superficial soundbites. I predict he is going to be a successful manager in his career.
