Varane for the most part has been first choice but injuries and his limitations on the ball have pushed him down the pecking order with a possible departure appearing more and more likely, and even Harry Maguire has performed okay in the last month but there are still serious long term doubts over his future also. Then you have Lindelöf who’s contract ends at the end of the season so it has become more and more evident that an RCB to partner Martinez has fast become a huge need. So a player that has turned heads and has been earmarked as United’s priority CB upgrade in the upcoming window is Jean-Clair Todibo and I’ll explain just how he fits in…

I don't think he's a standout first 11 player. Or the one we need. But we are where we are. Ten Hag seems to have made his mind up about Varane too so we already know how that ends up.
Can only assume he knows Todibo is a done deal and he has to sacrifice Varane to get him in as first choice RCB.
Very wrong way to see for CBs.
If you want the physical side first is okay. I.e. pace power and stamina.
But your #2 MUST be Duels Nd being part of duels.
Maguire shines there. He wins duels at 74%. Varane and Licha are at 80+%.
As a comparison; Lindelof is at 41% and why I rather have him at LB inverted than at CB.
We should not care how you pass if you can't head, tackle, mark and one v one defending
Do one for Hermoso and Kimpembe.
They are free.
Number one thing a defender SHOULD do is defend.
It's no use talking about a player we don't have
Another player Ten Hag will spend money on and not know how to use.
We have a serious lack of size/toughness and aerial threat with this squad. Teams like Newcastle feast on us in the air it’s like men vs boys. The way we constantly waste corners and free kicks is so hard to watch. Like when we go short on a corner and then the delivery is either too late or not there at all
I always thought we looked better with Varane whos excellent at bringing the ball out
I'm all for new players but the priority should be replacing ETH. Never forget that!

Todibo is another average CB and injury prone….
The problem is pairing up Martinez he needs babysat.
Maguire & Tobido will at least be steady.
Martinez & Tobido is just a liability.
We keep talking about the right side but the left is as bad too. Especially when we don't have strong bench
We need rapid pace to defend on halfway line, especially because our best CB, Martinez, doesn't have in. Height would be a bonus but only that.

United have the fantastic trait of brining in players that are class and they never perform it’s an issue with united as a club
