Head Coach Gregg Berhalter spoke to media following the #USMNT’s 2-1 loss to Trinidad & Tobago in the 2nd leg of the CONCACAF Nations League Quarterfinals. The USMNT won the series 4-2 on aggregate and advanced to the Nations League Finals in March 2024 + qualified for 2024 Copa America.

Gregg's inexperience in learning tactics as you go and his poor away Concacaf record has really questioned why he was rehired. I understand USMNT players endorsed him, which is why he was rehired. Winning away against minnows like T&T FIFA 99 ranks. You own it, Gregg mediocrity.

Can't even make the right substitutions. He has the energy of an elementary coach, he also needs to hype up our players and stop being too soft we won't make it far with this coach in the Copa America.
It is not Gregg fault, it is the Federation's fault. If you want USA soccer to improve, then remove the USA Soccer Federation leadership.

Why is it so difficult for U.S. Soccer to set up these interviews so that the questions can actually be heard?
Some honest and free advice for Gregg. When you lose a fullback to a red card, and you have a two striker formation, you remove a striker to add another fullback back into the lineup. You don't deplete your midfield and make the remaining midfielders fight for 30 minutes as an outnumbered group. That "puts a lot of players in a tough position and risk".
If that red card happens shortly before half, you also instuct the team to get behind the ball, remain organized, and give up possession to their D and wide players. Then you see that situation out to halftime and consider more tactical adjustments from there. You don't maintain a high line and immediately get beat by a long ball.
Lastly, Dest surely has some unresolved issues and emotional dysregulation. He needs the support of the team, and I like your approach of committing to giving him a second chance. But, hopefully you insist he gets the type of off the field professional help that he needs to appropriately manage his emotions and deal with unresolved issues.

No growth for this team with GB at the wheel , our team lacks fire, energy, motivation that comes from the coach. Can never properly adjust during mid game his tactics suck.

Excuses, Excuses and more Excuses. This is the so call best generation of American players that we have and we lost to the 99 rank team in the World and you are ranked 11. Argentina is ranked 1 and they will never lose to 89 ranked Curacao. USSF and Gregg just get a clue on what you are doing.
