Simon is clueless and lives in Cookoo land. Sterling has been one of the best players in the England squad since Southgate took over. His scoring rate is fantastic from the position he plays. Whether you think he's world-class or not is not relevant. It's an argument you're coming up with on your own and trying to push it across by mentioning "he's not world-class" several times. He's good for England and that is the bottom line.

Agreed, simon. Not long ago, people were saying that Sterling can't finish or misses open goals. He had a great euros mediocre world cup.
Sterling is nowhere near wc, but he's better than rashford. Grealish, Foden, Gordon, Saka, Palmer are all better than Sterling who makes the wrong decision 60% of the time. Frustrating AF. Looks wc 10% of the time. The pay off isn't worth it. Rather have a player less flashy who makes better decisions more consistently. This is why Pep let him go. ps. IMO Rashford is a less consistent Sterling, but Rahfords at his best is above them all

Always succinct and pertinent. Now Jordan displays a good eye. To a lesser extent Salah collapses under similar scrutiny. Good teams mask ineptness.
As a Chelsea fan i feel Sterling isnt needed for these next few England games against teams that any Premier League B team should be beating comfortably. If he keeps playing well he will be in the Euro Squad for sure especially for experience even if thats his and Southgate's last England tournament.

White is calmly distilling the best out of Jordan whilst using slightly and friendly incendiaries.
Personally, I think it’s the perfect opportunity to explore other options during these two next games. At least he (Southgate) can go back and analyse what strengths/weaknesses he is working with before the big tournament. It makes perfect sense to me. I don’t disagree at all with you here Simon.
Raheem Sterling is a world class player, not in world class consistent form for Chelsea.

Sterling was infuriating at City, always dribbling into dead ends and scuffing chances. Scored loads of goals in the end but can only remember 1 of individual brilliance. Would have scored many more in that team if he could finish.

The world class argument is irrelevant, how many world class players are there? 11? 20? Put into perspective that he’s scored more goals for England than the likes of Beckham and Scholes, he’s only just behind the likes of Keegan, Gerrard and Hurst and will easily overtake them given the chance. If he carries on for a few more years another 10 England goals isn’t beyond the realm of possibility and that would level him with Shearer. He’s obviously a top player
