I agree that Van De Ven is the biggest miss. Said it before, he’s Spurs’ most important player. And I also agree about Brennan Johnson. Personally I think this kid will become an absolute superstar at Spurs. Once Ange gets into him about helping his fullback out defensively he will improve massively. And Bentancur was my favourite player last season. Terrific footballer. I think one facet of Bentancur’s game that gets a little overlooked is that little trait of pinching the ball off the opposition. He’s the best I’ve ever seen at doing this. And I’ve been a Spurs fan for 50 years. Tough fixtures coming up but Spurs have only played 5 home games this season so are due a run of home games upcoming. Great video again. Nice one. 🙏🏼

the biggest miss in spurs is not even maddison or bentancur well last season it was rodrigo bentancur but this time it is van de ven for sure the dutch international is the core reason spurs highline been so much effective in the premier league without him u could easily see the crucks at the back…plus many ppl are so much focused on spurs injuries and the downfall the even write them off "back to default" not worried that it took Ange a few months to get this team up and ppl were shocked imagine what he will do in 2 yrs

Van De Ven easily the biggest miss as Spurs have no like for like replacements at CB, Eric Dier distant second rate. Bentancur was 2nd best to Kane last year at Spurs as you say but was out injured for a big chunk of it and Son was suffering with an injury all season. Brennan Johnson will definitely be a boost to Spurs hopefully he's over his injury now and although Lo Celso can play in Maddison spot Kulusevski has stated that's his best position not winger which also adds another view to the set up.
As a Spurs fan I love your videos giving an independent assessment of Spurs. Not sure I agree with Brennan Johnson as a 10, because you could be wasting his pace. I also think it'll be difficult to drop Sarr for Bentancur, as he's such a dynamo. Bissouma's form has dipped, so it could be him who loses out … but it's a good problem to have, unlike the CB problem!

Interesting analysis! I never thought about Bentancur to replace Sarr when Maddison is back. Football at times is such a game of chess, so many different moves can potentially create a win! Again your analysis is very insightful!

I would play a front 3 of Johnson, Son and Gil and play Kulu as a number 10, Kulu is a very creative player and he needs to play in that role. Kulu is not a right winger, he has no pace

Ange is quite a good manager but he is not at the level of Pep and Klopp or even Poch. If Spurs can finish in the top 4 and qualify for champions league, it would be deem as a fantastic season for them. Spurs dont have the mantle and consistency to fight for the title.

Dier will cost us points every time he plays. Im less concerned about Maddison missing than Dier playing.
Also worth noting that Ange hasn't made any of last seasons awful footballers better. He's replaced them.

Totally agree I think in midfield we'll be fine with bentancur, locelso, bissouma, keep hoibjerg out of the team, in defence we can use romero when he returns with either Davies or one of the young defenders, brennan Johnson will only get better.
Hojbjerg fitted José ball perfectly which is the opposite of Angeball.
I also think him and bissouma cannot be starting in the same 11.
The best midfield that can start at the moment would be Sarr, Bentancur and Bissouma
What if Skipp is tested with Davies or Phillips as the center back pairing before Romero returns?
I mean Dier was a DM at one point and switched to CB. Skipp might do a solid job
But we're back to Dier and Davies at the backline. I have no confidence in them
Be interesting to see if Lo Celso can perform in the number 10 role for spurs. If not I expect either Bentancur or Kulusevski might move to that position temporarily.
Once again we get non Spurs fans on here talking abut us going after the tittle. Honestly guys most us Spurs fans have NEVER seen that as our #1 thing we are going after, for us the most pressing thing is finishing in the top 4 and getting into Europe again……………The Aussie Spurs Fan.
