Struggling Spanish club Sevilla appoints Diego Alonso as their new coach. Sevilla is currently 14th in the Spanish league with eight points from eight matches.
They are set to face league leader Real Madrid after the international break.
Diego Alonso, the 48-year-old coach, previously helped Uruguay qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
Mendilibar, the outgoing coach, led Sevilla to the Europa League title in May but was let go after a poor start to the season.
