    Chelsea Abroad: Edouard Mendy INJURED! Is Mendy OUT For A Long Time? How Bad Is His Injury?



    Edouard Mendy: Chelsea goalkeeper pulls out of Senegal squad due to thigh injury. Frank Lampard must wait to see if Mendy is fit to face Southampton at Stamford Bridge after the international break. Chelsea have suffered a potential blow after goalkeeper Edouard Mendy injured his thigh while on international duty with Senegal. Mendy joined Chelsea in a £22m deal during the transfer window but Frank Lampard now faces an anxious wait while they ascertain the severity of the problem. Chelsea play Southampton at Stamford Bridge on October 17 after the international break before taking on Sevilla in their opening Champions League game and Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
    The Senegalese Football Federation has announced the withdrawal from their squad of Edouard Mendy due to injury.
    The goalkeeper sustained an injury to his right thigh during training on Wednesday and had a medical examination in a hospital in Rabat, where Senegal are due to play Morocco tonight. Mendy has since returned to Chelsea where he will undergo further examinations.
    Mendy sustained a thigh injury during training ahead of Friday’s Afcon qualifier in Morocco. The Chelsea goalkeeper has left Senegal’s national team camp and is back in London with Chelsea. A statement on the Senegalese Football Federation’s website read: “The Senegalese Football Federation announces the package of the goalkeeper of the National Selection Edouard Mendy following an injury to the right thigh that occurred during the training session on Wednesday October 07, 2020 and after a medical examination at the hospital in Rabat.
    “Edouard Mendy has also left the group this afternoon to return to his Club (Chelsea) where he will undergo further examinations. The Senegalese Football Federation wishes him a speedy recovery.”

      I would never understand why International teams get to use players and pay nothing for their medical bills.. Morocco freaking used Ziyech (risking him) even when Chelsea treated him and have been trying to ease him into the game! FIFA should enforce International teams paying for player injuries whilst on duty
