  1. The goalie blocked one before this game and made 14 saves in this game and the record is 16 HE IS ON FIRE🔥🔥. The penalty was created by Messi's play he got the goalie's glove in the face, he takes the penalty. Just to be clear if Messi does not take the penalties for Argentina then THE HATERS would say that he lacks the courage to take the penalties. IN OTHER WORDS THE STUPID HATERS ARE GOING TO HATE MESSI NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES. Missing a penalty is not the same as having it blocked by the goalie, GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. MESSI DID NOT MISSED THE PENALTY HE KICKED IT WELL INSIDE THE BOX AND THE GOALIE BLOCKED IT. Missing a penalty is shooting it outside the cage and I can remember a bunch of TOP players that have done that. STOP HATING AND GIVE CREDIT TO THE GOALIE ON THAT ONE, AFTER ALL HE GOT THAT HAND UP AND STOPPED THE BALL FROM GETTING IN.

  2. Finally someone's speaking out..if it's intense, someone else should take those… against PSG, against Madrid and yesterday..it's like a pattern, normally he's composed but when the stakes r high he just blasts it hoping to take the keeper to the net with the ball… normally doesn't work out, don't know if ever will.

  3. These guys still think UEFA has the ultimate say in who hosts world cups and when it's played. Many parts of the world don't have "summer" or winter. FOOTBALL DOES NOT BELONG TO EUROPE ALONE.

  4. The best players in the history have all missed penalties. Also, penalties are the worst and unfortunate part of the sport. No footballer dreams of one day being a great penalty taker.

  5. No major media outlet will talk about how Argentina have been gifted the 2 most controversial penalty decisions. Nobody will talk about how Lionel Messi missed it, no scrutiny, simply because it's not Cristiano Ronaldo.

  6. Fair play is stupid because one ref can give our more cards than another for the same incidents. It should be something the teams did. Should be shots on target or something of that sort

  7. ESPN will still be hypocrites for Messi even after he gets knocked out, Messi is a great, o e kf the greatest but he's aweful at penalties and handling pressure

  8. Honestly it wasn’t a bad penalty, more a really good save. I think that’s even why Messi and the fans didn’t seem that disappointed. But it wouldn’t hurt to mix it up once in a while. Saving penalties is a lot of guessing so that less predictable the better for the taker

  9. Who asks these stupid questions. Messi should take them and will score the next pen as well. He's scored far more than he missed…and people who write these question should realise taking a pen is not an easy thing.

  10. … What?

He misses one pen and the world ends. It’s a part of the game. I don’t care who’s on the pitch: if Messi is playing, he’s taking it.

  11. If Messi wants to take it, he will take it. And he'll always want to take it. It's not about maximizing the scoring opportunity by a few theoretical % points that matters, it's the leader of the team taking ownership and putting himself over anyone else on the team in the highest preassure situation. It's called leadership.
